List of things that constitutes Rice (IMO)

- big Honda/Toyota etc. sticker on your rear windshield
- unmatched colored body parts
- unpainted body kit or any body parts
- big @$h spoiler with no reasonable justification of having it
- flame stickers
- hood scoops (again with no reasonable justification of having it)
- badges that doesn't make any sense (ex. bmw badge on honda civic)

boss 302 is rice. the dacals in no way improve the performance.

if rim diameter isn't driven by brake clearance it is rice, yep even on a factory car...

so lets simplify this for you simple people, if it isn't functional it is rice

...for instance the stupid decal on my gas door from the dealer...is ricey as F^ck.

18's on a mini cooper...factory or otherwise...rice

18's on a Z where they are required to clear brakes...NOT rice.

I like that i made you guys so mad...it tells me you are ricers at heart and what i have said made it that much harder for you to deny.

here's a tip, come to terms with it, you are what you are...if you like that stuff embrace it and quit letting people you don't know judge you and affect you, your skin's too thin...go get some swag, you'll feel better about yourself
LMAO!!!.... oh god, it hurts... the laughter!!! I know we're not supposed to feed the trolls, but you are just toooooo cuuuuuute!!! Who's a big, bad racer boy? Is it you? Is it you? Yes it is...

OP, if you still want to know what is or isn't "rice" (and are genuine in your asking, and you're not just trying to pad your post count by posting frivolous threads), I'd advise you to really take a good long look at the posts till now. On the one hand, you've got some well spoken, respectful people writing about how people need to get off worrying what other people think of their cars, and just do their own thing... then you've got THIS guy ( ), who's taking time between posts to doodle a troll-face on the head of his wiener. Ya really wanna try and win his approval with your car? LOL...

*edit: never understood the whole "i love haters" thing... are you trying to discourage flaming? Are you trying to go religious and love your enemies? doesn't make sense...
It's actually called "being a troll". He's doing everything he can to encourage people to come right out and be hostile/ engage in name calling, so THEY'RE the ones who get in trouble with the mods. But it's okay: we were all 16 and without girlfriends at some point, and at least this keeps him from doing less savory things in front of his keyboard (I hope).

Technically were all ricers, i mean...have you looked at our cars? Identity confused, the FRS has fangs and the BRZ has a mustache. People changing the badges because they want everyone to know they own a Toyota made by Subaru. People moaning about it being a Scion, people moaning that the omega ultra legendary Subaru name is stricken with Toyota on the engine.

I mean come on, were all suckers here. We are the ricer community.

To me, "rice" is modifying a car to make it look like it is supposed to be fast, but obviously is not. And doing it with no eye for aesthetics. Cars that are obviously not performers, but are well done with an eye towards composition and a solid concept are not rice.

How the car is presented matters too. A slammed, "hellaflush" car with double-digit camber that's presented as a cruiser that looks cool isn't neccesarily rice. But try to pass that car off as supposedly being fast on a track and it's rice no matter how much time and effort is put into it.

What it comes down to is: Is the car going to impress the people that are worth impressing; the people who know what they are looking at? If so, then it's not rice. If the only people that will be impressed with the car are highschoolers and people who don't know any better, then it's rice.

Remember the tip from Guitar Hero: Your mom doesn't count as a fan.

Agreed, I see for months all this hype on stuff and then its taped on?
I do like some of those looks, but to me it is all stuff just stuck on..... and looks just stuck on.....starting with rear deck spoilers... to front lips and ...ax5. I just do not like it, all the wide body stuff, to me just seems to add weight for no reason. I take that back, it is to make it look like you want and I can understand that. Look at some of that stuff and I see widebody = another lego block stuck on and nobody cares about the seems?
You have these sema cars... I see stuff stuck on and then few screws to hold it on(that black one sure is mean looking thou).
My wife said don't go screw it up......it looks good, damn good as is for me.
So, all this exterior bling, is rice to me. Now, anything you do inside that motor bay or interior is fair game.

IMO the term rice should not be used. In a way it's racist because it describes an allegedly distasteful style with parts that probably originated in an Asian country. I personally would omit saying it altogether. Unless I was using it in reference to food.

It's like saying "Jap" to me. That's disrespectful in my opinion. Using rice in the manner mentioned in this thread is not cool. I'm not angry or upset. Just giving my take on this. :happy0180:
