I have a similar noise and it doesn't seem to be related to the other thread.

It sounds like a muffled horn and it only happens when driving/shifting aggressively. My buddy has an FR-S and he heard the sound in my car and said 'WTF?' He doesn't have the same issue in his car.

guys i think the bright red shift light accompanying the "horn" noise would be a give away lol. This is more likely a clutch/transmission issue. Are you completely off the gas before you depress the clutch? I know it sounds trivial but i have no idea of your experience level.

I have the shift beep disabled and I know what that sounds like. This is not that sound. It sounds like air squeaking past the throttle body butterfly or something like that.

I hate tracking down strange noises This could be ANYTHING! In the back of my head im wondering if its the noise generator malfunctioning? I know its all suction based but maybe something broke in that big black vibrating valve thingy (for lack of a better term). Seeing as this may be a suction based noise?

It's not the noise generator in my car. I removed that thing the first weekend I had the car.

I'll try to track down the noise... been on my TODO list for a while.

Maybe it is your clutch peddle squeeking (or making a harmonic "woot") when you depress it quickly to shift?

i can maintain the noise by slipping the clutch (throttle and clutch modulation), easiest to do on a highway/constant speed.

For me it never happens when depressing the clutch to shift out of gear, only when releasing the clutch to shift into gear.

Not sure if it helps but I noticed something: your gear indicator takes a while to show up, much longer than in my car. Related issue?

I get this noise in my car too, and i've noticed my gear indicator takes a while, much like video, how long is it supposed to take before the number displays? Is it instant for you?

For me it doesn't show until you are completely off the clutch so it may just be a side effect of the condition since to cause the noise you have to be at least partially on the clutch. Is that how it works for you guys, no indicator until the clutch is fully released?

It's not instant, and does not show until clutch is released. I think it takes about a 1.5sec to 2sec to appear, but whatever the time is, it is definitely not as long as in the video.

I'll try to get a video later today for you.
