I can confirm SVXdc has been off the radar

I'm not in a huge rush but if anyone knows where one can get another "wiring kit" I'd really appreciate it!

Looking at the pictures earlier in the post I did in fact use the ping/green wire and cut and tapped it appropriately. If this switch doesn't work, I'll have to remove the deck, check my soldered connections and reassemble. And if that doesn't work, maybe because I am 6AT instead of manual? Or Radio Version? I'll report back tomorrow my status.

Thanks!
So I tested this out this morning. The switch now works. However, the end result is not good. As soon as I flipped the switch (a multiple of times), my GPS got out of whack - until I literally shut everything down, was stationary, switch (on) and then all was good. Furthermore, I don't see anything undim in either navigation, phone, video. I have proven that this is controlled by the GPS in my case and not the VSS. In further diagnostic functions of the radio, the SPD sensor somehow is tied to my GPS rather the VSS wire as I was receiving SPD increases with switch off.

I have a 6AT Limited, and am not happy about this.

I truly think it might have to do with the RADIO Firmware version.

This is what I got under the 'Unit Version Information' screen:

Manufacturer Name:
Fujitsu TEN

Version:
44.103 12/04/1

CD DSP Version:
1.04

Can you guys check with yours and see if there is a comparison?

THANK YOU!

Weird - mine definitely doesn't care about GPS to determine motion and my toggle switch doesn't affect GPS at all - map/navigation continue to work fine without the signal. I'm sure it'll be lost if I go underground in a tunnel without the speed sensor on though, but that's to be expected.

I'll check the head unit version info tonight after work and let you know.

Oh and just to rule it out - you definitely have the e-brake line grounded on the 16-pin right? Doubt that's causing your problem, but that's one other thing that I did on mine.

E-Break is good. The Info screen proved that when I did this mod when I installed my Amp/Sub.

Thanks!

so is this the only sure way to bypass the lockout? ground the e-brake wire, and then put a switch to this gps signal or w/e it is wire? i'm tired of waiting to stop to put anything into the nav.

Can someone verify this works? I had my car on a Ferry this weekend, parked of course, and the Nav locked me out because the Ferry was moving.

I'm assuming the GPS notices the car is moving and locks the user out, even when the car is not running.

Switch on the vehicle speed sensor line works for me.

That definitely means your HU was using GPS to detect motion. The VSS will not have been pulsing since your wheels were not spinning. So cutting the VSS wire would not have made a difference. The only solution would be to block GPS reception (try a metal plate over your instrument cluster).

What is the model number printed on the front of your factory HU?

Same question -- what is the model number printed on the front of your factory HU?

I'm wondering if later models switched to using GPS.

ADDED: You both should also look up the firmware version on the diagnostics screen. EDIT: Not diagnostics screen. See my next post.

FA601US

Let me know which screen you want me to get (let me know the button sequence to get to it as well to make sure I'm looking at exactly the right info).

My GPS was updated by the dealership with the latest firmware a month ago because I was having issues with satellite reception.

I'll check the version tomorrow.

I checked my HU today.

Model: FA601US

Nav: 15:50/30.07 9.2.2.250040

Audio: 08,07,2012 Ver.44.1004

So it does appear I have a more updated version of the HU's firmware.
