I live by a Ferrari dealership and I get 93 octane there but I well still get the chirp I just have to drive it hard before they will show up I normally run e10 blended 91 and it seems to help the noise from what I understand is fuel going into the lines intermittent instead of steadily from what my dealer said no idea if that's correct though

Just got my car back from having the HPFP replaced. First think I noticed was quicker throttle response and no idle dip when coming to a stop. I also noticed that my MPG went from 28.2 to 29.8. Hope the fix lasts!

Everyone please stop reporting your chirp is going away 2 days after you get it put on.

We are aware that the problem goes away (just like when the car was brand new). Please come back and inform after you have put on 400 miles at least and went through a full tank of gas.

We had our first cold front of the season and the car was idling around 500 rpm this morning.

The dealership had the car four six hours to do "diagnostics" and told me that they ordered the parts to fix it but they are on back order and will take a while.

My tire pressure warning light is on now since I left the dealership...IDK what they did

If it's been really cold, the temp will lower your tire pressure.

Temperature and pressure are directly proportional.

If you just got your car back, that MPG difference doesn't really mean much. And if you're going off the dash display, it's pretty worthless anyway. Way too many factors involved to gauge this accurately.

Understood, but from a troubleshooting standpoint the sensor should have gone off this morning and not after I picked up the car, correct?

I didn't know the details, but there can be a difference in the temps of the surface your car was on at each time. I'm just throwing it out there as something that can affect the pressure, not saying you didn't drive over a screw or maybe the shop did, etc.

I do suggest grabbing a tire gauge and finding out if it's off by any significant amount and keeping an eye on it. It's just a dummy light and I'm not sure how far off the pressure needs to be before it lights up, but if there's a leak, best to find out right away and notify the shop if you think it got punctured while it was in service (really hard to prove anyway, though).

Hmm...after thinking about it, the car sat in the garage before being outside in 45 degree temps. The temperature adjustment probably took a while. I'm gonna go put air in the tires and see what happens.

Back to OP topic, I brought a print.out of the Scion cricket TSB to my Subaru dealer on my first oil change and they honored it. The parts were ordered awaiting delivery and call from them.

Got this taken care of yesterday at my local Toyota dealer. Just a drive to confirm the noise, and then about two weeks to get the fuel pump in. Two hour install. No crickets now.
