So is it a consensus that replacing the HPFP as per the TSB is not fixing the chirp?
I guess I'll wait then. |

I just made an appointment to have my pump replaced a week from now and now I'm wondering if I should reconsider. Anyone that has had the crickets return should be sure to contact Subaru and let them know what's up.

Well this is a huge facepalm. I stopped pushing to get mine replaced once I switched to ethanol-free 93 octane and the sound could not be reproduced. I'll just say fuel type is the culprit, no matter what HPFP revision, and leave it at that.

It look like Toyota don't know the complete issue and they have not found a complete sollution for the cricket noise here in the US. I better wait more before I bring it in. btw, what gas brand has 93 octane in california?

It seems the biggest hold up on parts is a gasket (or that's what my dealership is telling me). Just like when my car was getting fixed after I got t-boned I was waiting on a piece of seat foam. It's always the small parts that are the pain.
