I'm anxious to see how people say the car handles snow before spending the coin on snow tires.

Get your rides Opti-Coated for the winter.

I did these two yesterday. Although the Asphalt one wasn't done yet in this pic. I couldn't pass up a photo opp! The Hot Lava was just done.

Dude, theres got to be dozens of detailers in SF who will do an Opti-Coat application. And the hard part is the paint prep. I you get you paint prepped (cleaned and polished) you can put the stuff on yourself. It's pretty easy.

^ ditto. Back in garage, turn off, close garage door and drive my xB all winter. I will try and drive the FR-S when it is nice out and there isn't any salt on the roads.

This. I was originally going to get winter tires, but my fiancee decided that she should buy a new car instead, so inherited her Honda Pilot. So now, at the first sign of salt on the road, the FR-S gets a full tank of gas and a bath and goes into hibernation for the winter. It'll come back out again after the first good rain in April washes all the salt off the roads.

I'd suggest not filling up the tank... Gasoline tends to go "stale" when sitting for months at a time. I'd suggest leaving it at about 1/8th to 1/4 a tank.

^exactly. A tank that's not 100% full leaves room for moisture to build up (condensation from temperature change) and can cause corrosion inside the fuel tank.
