One of the only cars i know that is done this way. If you want confirmation ask any member who already has a car to compare their build and compliance plate dates.
Correcto. Build month/compliance plate date the same.

As I've said in another thread there is almost zero done to these cars on landing - even the Aero kit wing is fitted at factory.

OK ! Not after confirmation, just saying from experience. My current celica ordered from the factory built 6 DEC landed in Melbourne early Jan & then TMCA riveted an Aust compliance plate on it Jan2001 !

I guess the 86/BRZ is special ! My car on order looks like it's guna be Jan13 build - suits me fine

PS: Could anyone confirm if that stupid large front number plate bracket is installed here at the dock or @ Gunma?

When I picked up my GTS a month ago the dealer said the extra allocation then equaled 8 extra vehicles at his dealership. He also mentioned that people walking in that day would be told the waiting time for a GTS manual is now up to 3 years.

Not sure if Toyota told them to say this in order to scare people off and make their situation look better, or if it was actually true.. or if he was just spinning car salesman talk.

Another source of mine has mentioned this would surely be reduced when Toyota releases the convertible version next year and also releases/announces a few more sports models that are still under wraps.

Believe it when I see it!! 6 weeks for a GT? I've waited 4 months, checked with the Dealer and still nothing, production still 'to be confirmed' - I guess in typical Toyota fashion, they will forget those that got in early!!

I was actually sort of fearing the extra 1500 allocations of GTS, because I had a sneaking suspicion that it would push GT orders back...which it kinda did at my dealer, 6 GT orders pushed back into Feb - March 2013, except mine! stroke of luck as my salesman emailed me to confirm a delivery in January 2013!

Both the Lakin mount and the StreetFX slimline mounts cover the holes in the bumper. There are not screw holes but cutouts in the bumper with metal clips behind.

In the grille below the bumper (depending on what you use to mount the plate) there are two screw holes that are almost invisible - the Lakin mount uses those holes, the StreetFX mount does not.

It's not a matter of "not drilling" the bumpers are manufactured that way except for the US.

So effectively, let it come with the mount and then use either the Lakin or (cheaper) StreetFX mount.

I have the Lakin on the car, and the StreetFX mount (which I bought but am not using) either will do the job.

Yep, I have the StreetFX mount @ home waiting patiently, but on the WTF thread which sold it there's a red 86 on p6 with the mount & plate fixed in position & you can clearly see the 2 extra holes the factory have drilled on the lower black mesh which is pretty silly.

I will suss it out when I get the car & make a decision to leave it (if it gets done) or replace the mesh section of the bar altogether. The car is pretty low so it's probably going to be OK. Cheers !

My suggestion would be to take out the original screws and paint them black and put them back in. The only person who will ever notice is you.
