Half price is still way too high. This isn't an entire intake setup, just a scoop replacement for the snorkel and a small resonator to replace the noise generator. Very little actual product. For just the scoop, moving the decimal one place to the left would bring this into the realm of sanity for a molded plastic part. Maybe 20 bucks for the resonator. The piece on the filter box looks like a size for size replacement of the OEM part. I figure this will make about the same difference as removing the snorkel does for the Airaid and AFE intakes.

Wouldnt removing the snorkel for those intakes also suck in hot air? Maybe that is the reason why multiple dynos show the Airaid losing power. You could kind of compare this with the Perrin CAI that is in development right now since they place the air filter in front of the radiator. This would basically be the same type of concept since it connects all the way through the air box. This design at first never caught my eye until more people did some explaining and after googling other similar intakes for other cars they were right and a lot of high end intakes were similar. Keeping the stock tubing. What more do you expect from an intake set up? You want an air box / filter like the 2 you listed? Both of those intakes barely got any gains. As of right now IMO based on data and what other people are saying a drop in filter/Avo/Zeta silicone tubings are probably the best intake solution at the moment. All the other intakes besides Injen have shown little to no gains at all.

Their is a chance this intake isnt real Carbon Fiber but for what you pay and when paying it states they make it when you order it. Which is how you have to handle most Carbon Fiber made parts. I believe Carbon Fiber doesnt soak up heat either.

Since it is basically an enlarged scoop it would suck more air in without interference / air from the radiator so you get cooler air. I wouldnt be surprised if this got better gains then both intakes you listed since the Aairaid lost power and the AFE gained only a couple HP. I wouldnt expect a Japanese company like Syms to over charge for an intake that loses power. It would tarnish their name.

OH MY GOD. I emailed them about this. This is fucking badass

Where did you find this? I looked all over the site couldnt find anything

With the pricing on the other intakes I dont think this would be affordable. The Syms is 1300 with the resonator. I saw a Gruppe M intake for an S2k for 2300. It probably would be a nice intake but for how much it costs and what you gain based on what we have seen with current intakes it probably wouldnt be worth it. Nice as fuck though.

I saw that Vivid Racing is a Gruppe M vendor. If they get this and its affordable I will have to set a road trip out to AZ to visit my friends their also and pick this up

Finaly a dynamic air induction. I mean one that used the build up pressure of air at front to feed the intake in positive way.
I remenber in the past when big brand of motorbike first started to move to this dynamic intake they clame increase of about 15 hp

Thank's to gruppM to bad they don't have a cheaper molded plastic version

That Gruppe M intake looks awesome. I wonder if they will release a separate intake they make on there own.
