I was told the wait could be as long as 4 months. Dont expect to get what you want if you are being so specific. Especially with all these problems going on I am pretty sure that orders are getting pushed back because of all these things like the CEL for example.

Is it true that they only order on the 1st and the 15th of the month?

I recommend checking AutoTrader.com, that's how I found mine. Woke up one morning and was playing with my iPad and decided F it, I'm gonna check AutoTrader....went to the dealership and got my FR-S on the same day.

I dont have any proof but I have a very hard time believing only 10% are being made stick. I dont know the exact number but I know I have seen reports saying that most of these cars have come with a manual transmission. Also I have seen a large handful of these in real life and very few have been auto, if what you are saying is true then I would be hard pressed to see one other than mine with a standard trans.

The numbers I read stated that 75% of all Fx6 twins made at the factory are manuals, and roughly 65% of the twins sold in America are manual as well. These cars and the Miata are probably the only cars in America with that high of distribution of manual transmissions. If it seems like there's a ton of automatics for sale out there, it's because enthusiasts are snapping up all the 6-speeds and leaving the others sitting on the lots.

The big reason why I am waiting to get it from the dealership I work at is because I get the car at a slight discount and employee financing rates. But the biggest reason is because when it comes in I will literally be the only person to touch it besides the delivery guy. I get to do the PDI and wash it myself so I don't have hours of work to fix detail guy's mess ups and scratches and swirls from horrible washing technique. This car will be opti coated withing 24 hours and hopefully it will have a clear bra within a week.

I got extremely lucky on mine. I saw one at SF Toyota on the webpage, I had called in to see if I can look at the car, the minute I called, they were doing an credit check on somebody that had got denied on the loan. I checked out the car and bought the car the same day and walked out with an Raven AT FRS.
