Hi, Can we take all the risks with your car, and you pay for it? hah.. I'm sorry but I would HIGHLY advise against this..
What's in it for the person letting people LEARN on their car? A few bucks in labor at the risk of several thousands? Sorry but saving $1000 bucks on labor is NOT my idea of a deal, when your R&D'ing. Please fellow Owners beware... Treat your cars right. Watch their video... Look at the welds on their prototype... Look at the intake. are these the guys you want working on your car |

I really mean nothing hateful by this, but come on ...
1. It costs all of about $75/year (including registration, private business naming, domain name etc.) to get a website. 2. If you were smart enough to create a profile on here, you can build a website using Wordpress Themes, or pay $35 for a premium that is practically made for you. 3. Go and buy a digital camera to heavily document your work and business practices (a decent DSLR would suffice, and can be had for around $450) If you have ten years of experience, I am sure that you have a great customer base, and history of your work. So, at the end of the day, you are out $560 +/- a few coins. If you can't afford that kind of capital malnourishment ... how are you in business? And how can you expect people to trust you with shipping their brand new $30,000 car for "testing" purposes. I understand that not every shop in the world can afford to go and purchase an FR-S/BRZ, but coming on to a public forum, heavily populated with reputable shops, can you really expect great feedback using a Yahoo.com email address and a "just trust us" Facebook page?

For me, I've got to trust someone a whole lot. So, my statements stands. "Owners Beware" Lets look at what you've done. Well nothing as far as FI so we'll have to look at your intake and exhaust. The design would be ok with a heat shield but without, like other with this design it will negatively effect HP. Have you dyno'd it? No? Who markets part that are untested? Lets look at the exhaust. The welds are rather sloppy. It may generate some HP but how do we know? It's a chambered muffler as you said. Any more info? Nice sales pitch in your video(your no Billy Blanks though), but let your products speak for themselves. Do you think the form or function of your products match any others here? I don't. The amount of research you've put into your products scares me when we talk about Fi. Nightmare scenario... Well it looked/sounded like 6psi but it was 27 and now your pistons melted but good new we won't charge you for the labor of the $4000 with of parts we put in. You never mentioned how many cars you sold turbos into. I don't mean hooking up your friends 1998 civic with knock off parts. I'm talking about paying customers as references? When I look at shops to do FI. I see guys who have done scores of them. I don't want to be some bodies 6th turbo ever on a new plattform. Do you?? |

Dude, seriously, move on. They are doing no harm here to anyone, they are just trying to get a car to R&D. You have NO IDEA how the whole situation will pan out. You have NO IDEA what type of contract will be signed between Toxic and the person who donors their car. You already made your point, you don't like the approach, understood. Now, move on and leave them alone. They don't have to prove anything to you. They just have to prove it to the person who is looking to donor their car. Once they have the car and finish their product, go ahead and make an opinion on what they do. I don't know this shop and I'm extremely far away from them, but what's the point on you continuing to question their practices when you know nothing about them?? Let them do their thing. When someone donors their car it won't affect your life in any way so just let it be.

I would want to see their shop. I would want significant investment into a shop doing FI. The point is OP said he wanted me to retract my "ridiculous" opinion. I cannot. I though this was what this forum was for. To share opinions and help fellow owners out. If they didn't want discussion about it maybe they should have posted this on their website(when it's up, OP said it would be soon) instead of a forum. |
