I called the dealer and they said I had to wait for something to come in the mail and they had no information available. Did any of you already get something in the mail?

Not true in my case... They did ask me if I received something in the mail, and I said no... That shouldn't matter anyway... If there is a TSB I should be able to take it to my local dealer and get it fixed. They didn't put up a fight. If you know what you're talking about when it comes to the issue, and solution, they can't really give you the run around. :P

Cheers. I printed off the TSB and will take it over there this weekend.

I dropped my car off at the dealership yesterday. I haven't had the crickets until I had to drive my car down to Texas (about 800+ miles). The main reason I dropped the car off is because it started having those hardcore idle issues, and then the engine just killed itself (I have an A/T) with the dashboard lighting up like I was in Vegas. I'm trying to explain to the dealership that the idle issues and the crickets are two different problems, but they seem fixated on fixing the crickets and then seeing what happens. They put the order in for the parts as an emergency, but from what I have been reading that won't matter much. I have a case number with Scion so I'm really hoping I don't get screwed on this. Wish I was able to take it back to the dealership I bought the car at. That's the end of my b**** session. My car has been in the shop longer than I have been able to drive and enjoy it.

Dropped my car off @8am EST today. Just got a call that they are done. So definitely not a 2-day job.

I believe you don't get anything in the mail for a TSB. You get one for a recall though.

Picked the car up yesterday so far so good. No crickets yet and it idles a lot smoother. It was running rough and now it seems better. It was unusually warm yesterday afternoon so lets see this morning if it runs better in the cold weather.

The repair order said it paid 5.44 hours of labor to the tech so definitely no 2 day job. I dropped it off at 8 and it was ready around 3-4.

Chirping started at around 200 miles for me. Dealer replaced the fuel pump at 1173 miles and the chirping stopped for about 100-200 miles and has reappeared. Now at 1500 miles and wondering whether I should just deal with it or bring it back to the dealer again. Advice?

I called to make my appointment yesterday. Apparently they have not done one or even heard of it at my dealership. The lady told the service guy I wanted to know about the recall, I told her TSB.

He called me back and started telling me that there is no recall. After getting that all sorted out he looked up the TSB and is ordering the part.

I hope all goes well.

i brought my fr-s in for its first oil change today and brought pre-printed copies of the TSB for the crickets and disable DRL.. and they told me they would want the car for a day as they havent worked any other fr-s' so far yet... i think this dealer has only sold like approx 5 so far me being one of them.. (westbury scion)

only thing im worried about is that i pointed out my vin shows im a early production fr-s and would need a new ecu.. and i would assume this would need to be ordered which means at least a 2nd visit... i hate it when i feel like i know more about a situation than the dealer lol

my crickets arent too profound... its like a baby cricket... has anyone noticed that the cricket sound has become louder over time/more mileage?

Mine definitely got louder. When mine started at about 300 miles, it was hardly noticeable and I had to carefully hear for the noise. I have about 4k miles now and I can hear it even at 30+ mph as long as I put it in neutral and the engine stays at idling RPM. The noise can be heard from the 4th floor where my friend lives.

Went in today and they assessed and ordered the parts to fix my chirp. Should be here in 3 days.
