Has one access the system settings and hit update maps? It can be found by holding map, voice and audio buttons. Just putting on the SD wont work. You would need to updating through the backend.

In which state do I hold these three buttons to access the backend? When in maps? I tried that but nothing happened.

Start of with map, then voice and then audio, much sure you hold all three and it should come up. If not go the other way. It was on here somewhere.

Once in that secret menu there is an option to update maps.

hey skorov, you got the link for the new maps download? I think I know what to do, ive played with iGO on my suzuki swift.

also to access back end you hold map, voice and audio keep it down for 10-15secs you'll hear 3 beeps, then you will come to a white screen with black and green touch buttons.

O.o From what I've read the latest iGO version is 8. "R18" or whatever refers to the map version, I think.

saw my dealer this afternoon, i now have the new version map SD card, it is quite new.
The unit took a very long time to boot the first time, i think it may have updated the software as well....

I no longer have a car to mess with though, the corolla i was bench testing this sat nav unit in has now gone back to it's rightful owner and the sat nav will just sit in my 86 bits pile until my car arrives...
