Makes sense...I've been checking back every hour for the last two days. Needless to say, I'm wicked stoked with the recent news.

Scion doesn't have those. Part of the marketing plan. So if they choose sunroof, we all must buy it. I expect that ultimately price will lead to no sunroof for the Scion model.

Talk about crap your pants, one second all you could hear was the motor/exhaust and the next it was like standing next to a jet engine.

No targa top, no t-tops, no sunroof. Please.
Car under warranty at that point? If so what did the dealer say? That must have sucked. Yes no sunroof for me either.

No, it was way past warranty at that point, but my buddy/mechanic Jim at JPR in South Jersey had an RX graveyard out back. Only took a couple hours and a couple hundred bucks to replace. I don't know what I would've said to the dealership to try to BS my way into a free fix, if it were under warranty.

Last time I checked scions either had a sunroof or didn't. It was model based and not an "option"...

ok for all you sunroof haters, what if they went old school and used a metal panel that cranks back instead of glass?

For me, the added weight and potential cost is worth it. The weather is too damn nice here without one.

You got me. How could I forget the reason I was so pissed when they announced the car was going to be a my-way-or-the-highway Scion.

You can always go buy the subie version. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything.

I live in Florida and its typically beautiful outside, but the moment I hop in any of my cars I'm in a closed off, tinted out, air conditioned environment. I rarely even put the windows down, let alone slide the sunroof open. If I want to enjoy the weather I'll hop on my ZX and ride around lol.

The Subaru version is definitely a possibility, but I'm not even sold on the car as a whole yet, options are on the back burner. I'm waiting for the auto show debut to make my final decision. The FT will either blow me away and change my mind, or I'll end up with a refreshed Genesis Coupe. I'm in no rush to make a purchase, but I am getting a bit anxious.

I think it's already been said, but the source on this information is SOLID.

Moto has been personally kept in-touch with Toyota Japan concerning this car years before the FT-86 (Mk1) was even announced. His personal dedication and enthusiasm for car's in general, not just Toyota's, is as obsessive as it is picky. If he's this psyched about the final production version then I do believe we are all in for a serious treat come December.

What is his relationship with Toyota, beyond just being an eight-six fan? Was he a former exec, driver, race team manager/owner or something?
