That i did, got the car as is, no accessories. Paper work was done before i took delivery. The day i got the VIN, i put down a 500 deposit, next day i went and did the financing. Unfortunately, every dealership is going to handle things differently... Day it came in, took it home once it was of the truck.

So do they hold processing to start first payments until after it arrives for final processing? Would like to look into doing this but don't want to end up paying a car payment for a car that is still in transit.

Let me know what you find out. I just texted my salesman, but he doesn't know anything yet.

Something with the start of date of loan. What day it fell on. I forgot exactly how it work, my first payment wasn't due for almost a month and a half. I still had the right to refuse. The deposit was to show that was serious buyer. Ultimately i put up 500 deposit plus some toward the down payment in the loan. I can find out Tuesday what it was that the finance guy did.

Especially if their holding cars for QAing which I don't mind either.
What dealer are you dealing with? I'm in the SD area as well and got mine in a month, I also saw the blue one at the Escondido dealer few weeks back

I put a $500 deposit down when I ordered mine earlier this week. But I also want to do what I can to drive it off the lot as fast as possible when it shows up.

Sounds like I just need to go talk to the sales person and find out what timing works for doing what you did to avoid paying the first payment while it is in transit.

Also if any of you guys want to see incoming FRS in the SE region, go to

http://teamtoyotamallofga.com/New-Inventory.aspx, click FRS, then next to the FRS picture, click the number it shown "138 atm" for SE region. Change tab to "Inventory". Sort by color and have fun.

I love going there just to see the incoming FRS with the options. I see a good chunk hitting the SE dealers between 10/30 to 11/7. The one with the 10/23 delivery date hit port about 2 weeks ago.
This is a great link, does anyone know if there's a similar way to look in the gulf coast region? I've gone through the 43 dealers within 200 miles of Houston online and they're collectively showing ONE FR-S anywhere. It'd be nice to see something like this that went beyond what they claim to have on the lot.

Though it bums me out to see out of those 135 cars, there are only four MT Argentos and they've all been jacked up with Bespoke, spoiler, mud guards, mats, etc so they're over 27k.

Most of that can be taken off at the dock to match what you ordered, if you ordered one, I believe

Kearny Mesa. They were the first to get back to me and they were super helpful and nice. Didn't push anything extra on me (at least not yet, lol) and they let us test drive their Hot Lava FRS. When I dropped my deposit someone was getting the blue one at the time so I just missed it back then.

For those of you that waited on your FR-S, how long did it take from the time you found out it shipped (In the states, not from Japan) to you receiving it? I was told a couple of days by truck, but my impatience wants a more definitive answer.

I think if its allocated meaning on the boat then its 4-5 weeks. If just hit ports then its 1-2 weeks. And if it shipped on a truck then its 3-5 days.

For me it was 1-2 weeks when I saw the car hit port. Then the salesman told me its on the truck last Thursday and would arrive on 10/23 as shown on the website. It arrived yesterday 10/22 @ 2:05PM. Picking it up today at 7ish!
