Doesn't traction control already keep you from blowing through first and losing traction? Along with an early shift to 2nd, I'm not sure what else you would benefit from. Good idea though.

Am I the only one who sees the irony in someone with the screen name 'Hawaiian' talking about snow 4+ months out of the year?

I know he's from Chicago, but it still made me chuckle LOL.

This would be AWESOME!! But I would change one thing due to the map resetting every time you get in the car, switch 1 and 4. That would be EPIC!

Why do people want the stock map as one of the 4 maps? When are you ever going to drive with the stock map? I can see valet mode where it gives the car less power (friend driving, teaching girlfriend to drive stick, actually valeting the car) but other then that i dont think i would ever go back to stock map for a drive unless any one can give me a goo reason to.

Oh yeah, good point. That being the case, my ideal loadout would be to move everything up, and drop the stock setting to 4.

I don't even know if it's possible to have the stock ECU settings as one of the maps. I guess there are two reasons why you'd want a stock config:
  1. To do comparisons on Stock/Tuned
  2. To get dealer warranty work done

For #1, I guess that's of limited use since it's not like we're tuning our own cars, so you might do that once or twice and then not need it anymore. The real reason would be for #2, but I'm guessing that even if you have a stock config on one of the maps, the dealer still won't be able to do anything with your ECU since you're still running custom ECUTek code on it, so you'd really need to flash completely stock to get any work done.

So this all said, maybe having stock config on a map really isn't useful at all.

Yeah, after I put more thought into this, stock is pretty useless as one of the maps. Valet mode, on the other hand, that would definitely be useful, but it would have to be on Map 1 for it to be of any use, or it would have to have some kind of lockout mechanism so it sticks after engine shutoff or requires some special sequence to turn off.

I think the map resetting to 1 is a bug that ECUTek is trying to fix.

Stock tune isn't possible as one of the maps.

Agreed that is why I just said bump it to 4 because the other three map configs he recommended are perfect and you don't even need a 4th map. I would say sure why not, throw in vallet mode, but the maps reset every time right no so that would be annoying. Plus I'm not to worried about vallet's abusing this car unless you are FI.

Map 1 should be the map with the works, everything on it, and the higher the map number the less features.

I disagree.

Map 1 is going to stay featureless for now

Thanks. When you're running an exhaust, having autoblip kick in next to a cop when you're not expecting it could result in some uncomfortable encounters.
