It's fun being loud when getting on it most of the time, but I honestly feel embarrassed when pulling into/exiting the work parking lot, and my wife absolutely hates my car now. I really want to figure out how best to tone down the volume, and I'm not sure if upgrading to a Vibrant 17930 is enough.
Have you considered getting a cat welded on? Or do you already have one?

I bigger/longer resonator plus a cat will definitely quiet down the system.

A spun cat, might help... something like this:

those could make things/life easier.

Turbo's typically quiet down an engine's noise (except at WOT). Also, you pimp! getting a turbo!

Thought about the cat as well, My other idea which would cost more is to replace the to Ultra Quites in the rear and use something bigger. Prob wont touch it till next year cause Im expecting first snow dump in Calgary next week.

I've been mainly trying to figure out what my options are on the resonator front. As I've only jackstands, I'm a bit lazy to get under there and measure out the exact length of the straight portion of the midpipe, but depending on that length, I'm looking at the following resonators:

Thrush's 28" (Model 24214)
or
LCEngineering's 24" (without inlet/outlet)
or
LCEngineering's 18" (without inlet/outlet)

I'm hesitant to go the secondary cat route mainly because I'm not sure about how much quieter the cat would actually make the car. Cats are not actually designed to make things quieter (it's a by-product of the air restriction they impose), not to mention 3-5 times more expensive than the far-bigger resonators.

While I have no first-hand experience with any of the above 3, as long as they actually fit, I'm assuming the increased length will result in far superior drone reduction and volume reduction.

I think the glasspack will make your system sound raspy, so you want to avoid that route. I installed a test pipe without a CAT and the sound did increase, so I am assuming that CATS do add some type of sound suppression. I actually have been underneath my car and taken measurements, because I am planning my on custom exhaust, you have enough room to add a 24" Lg resonator, but you would have to replace the one that you have on now. BUT if you have the 18" Lg vibrant resonator, that would make things really complicated. You could get the 24" and replace the 18" and then sell the vibrant one. It would be a shame to see the vibrant resonator go to waste. I would wait a bit until someone post up a review/video of what the SRT exhaust sounds like with the cat and bigger resonator.

Cats do definitely make things quieter, but it's because they restrict airflow, not because they're actually designed to make things quieter. Resonators are designed to reduce sound without as large of an impact on performance. Since I still have my first cat, I really don't think I need a second one.

While I'm still a beginner at my consumed knowledge of how resonators work, I do know that the longer they are, the lower the tone and less drone. With the 18" Vibrant resonator, only 15.5" of that is the actual body. The LCEngineering 24" one has no outlet/inlet pipe, so the body itself is 24". With a body more than 1 1/2 times the length of the Vibrant, it seems it should be capable of being noticeably quieter. My only concern is that I haven't been able to find out much information at all about the company's resonators. Most reviews I've seen are Toyota trucks that use their headers.

What can I say....this system rocks. If you are still waiting, it's been worth the wait, no shit! What a huge difference. Nice deep rumble, not too loud, and does not sound like a ricer coffee can and when cruising on level ground with light throttle you know it's not the stock system but it's not intrusive at all. When you fire it up, it's so nice to HEAR the exhaust.

I don't have a video camera, so I can't give you a video.

Using a subjective scale where 1 is stock and 10 is open header, I'd say under full throttle it's 4.5 to 5.0 and at steady cruising maybe a 2.0 to 2.5. I really like this system. If you ordered one and don't have it yet, it will be worth the wait once you get it. Mine is the Cat-back, not header back, just so you know.

CoasterMikey, are you diggin this system or what?!!!

WOW! Thanks for the informative cat-back review! Mine arrives next week. So, glad to hear it's worth the wait!!!!! For sure, I am gonna like it, too, from what you have described.
