SRT FR-S/Subaru BRZ Header Back Performance Exhaust System ... NOW RELEASED!
Hello Everyone,
As many of you know we got our hands on the FR-S a couple of weeks ago and have been relentlessly doing a LOT of R&D on what parts we will be making for this particular platform. We decided to start with by addressing the exhaust system. The first thing we did was remove the entire system to study the factory design and then figure out what improvements we needed to make. At the same time we also decided to put in an O2 bung before the primary catalytic converter (pic #'s 2,3) so we could collect un-manipulated A/F numbers from the vehicle. This is VERY important data and gives us some very crucial data that is absolutely needed when one plans on make numerous parts that will have to perform and at the same time be safe for the vehicle. At the same time provides us with data that will tell us what works well with the stock ecu. The data collected will also help us in the future when it comes to tuning the vehicle. Well here are some preliminary pics of the exhaust system. This system starts at the flange right off the "over" pipe and all the way back. We are using a full stainless steel construction and like all our exhausts and turbo manifolds we make this system will also come with a full lifetime warranty. As you will see in the pics our system is a truly unique design for this platform. We have kept the number of bends to a minimum and at the same time we use a proper merge collector for the rear section to divide the exhaust flow to both sides equally. This particular design was our 5th design and was the most appealing visually and the sound was exactly where we wanted it to be (videos will be up later along with dyno numbers). The sound has a very nice deep tone/growl at initial throttle in from idle to about 3000 rpm then it actually starts to quiet down with more throttle input all the way to redline so as not to attract attention when one is doing some spirited driving ;) Well enjoy these pics and we will be posting more pics and videos as they become available. I love that design for the Y pipe going to the mufflers. Very clean and keeps all the components up inside the body and gives plenty of clearance for an underbody diffuser. Very nicely done!
Dynos!
Any chance of making a "catback" version (connecting at the downpipe) |
That is quite nice.
me gusta! o_o
Really clean looking system! Should have some good flow, very little bends.
