I mean, what other kind of grill can you put? Chrome will not match at all and it will be very hard to find one that will match the clean, simple, and curvy front.
I'd like a simple black mesh.

Yes, a variant of what we already have would also look wonderful. We currently have little triangles, but maybe small hexagons like the focus ST would be cool or a plain black mesh like the CTS-V too.

EDIT: And meanwhile i'm looking at other grills, here's some others for reference:

Miata (special edition)

I am kinda liking them with no grills tbh, but it would be nice to have some other options of course!

My buddy has a big FMIC on his GTI, nothing in front of it and it has never gotten dented or damaged.

Also countless buddies with evos/sti's with open FMIC's

well, just sayn. I guess it depends where you live. I gotta worry about gravel roads, trucks, falling tree limbs, shit like that... But, it does look great open and empty, or with the addition of an intercooler.... (just make sure its not an "interfooler")

An unprotected FMIC (on a DD) will get dents. They may be small but they'll be there. Usually no big deal and doesn't affect anything, unless it takes a major hit...

I see nothing wrong with the grill on the car. It looks clean and simple. Most aftermarket grills are flashy and ugly IMO.
