Up shift is holding the event. Its a free Drift day, if you would like to see what you can do just bring your car and a helmet.

I think it would be a cool place to end up after a big long line of 86's roll over there.

Facebook event. http://www.facebook.com/events/452344041453790/

I say we make a decision to end the cruise at the drift event. Where do we meet? Ft worth or Dallas?

What time are we thinking? Drivers meeting for drifting is 10am, but I know its not super important to make. Plus I think we should start closer to FW.

Ok I worked on the route. Click on the link below to check it out. We meet at a Denny's in south Fort Worth for breakfast. The route runs about 67 miles, 2.5 hours. I chose some roads that look the least populated and should have great scenery. The folks in Dallas can meet up somewhere in Dallas and cruise I-20 West to Fort Worth. Let me know what you guys think, and lets decide on a meeting time. If we want to make it for the driver's meeting at 10am in Mineral Wells it will mean meeting in Fort Worth by 6:30 a.m. I personally would rather meet later in the morning in Ft. Worth and get to the Drift event by noon to spectate but let me know if anybody is wanting to drive in the event.

If I was still in Dallas, I would have loved to cruise! Let me know if you guys do anything during any of the breaks!

That's the day after my birthday...if i'm in any shape to make it, i'll be out there with the deafening AE86. I don't know if i'll want to deal with it and have a huge hangover, so we'll see.

Mandm177, if you want to tag along with me to avoid having to drive, I would be happy to take you along. I tend to agree that we can show up fashionably late, maybe meet at the Denny's at 10am? I don't intend to drift I just want to watch a bit.

Just a quick note, on my way to fm51 I stopped by Benbrook lake. It costs 4 dollars to get in and it may dead end before it exits out to 377. Also watch for cyclists and deer. Very scenic place.

SIGH....

Looks like this one is impossible for me to make. Car is still in the shop (CEL issue BITES) and I doubt that I will have it back. Even if I did, I wouldnt trust it to go on a cruise till I have driven it a good bit.

Heres to next time.

Do we need to modify the route? Possibly skip the lakeside portion to make it a shorter route? Or find another stretch of road to replace that portion?

Either works, I guess it depends on how much we want to drive vs how much we want to see the event.
