Tell that to this chick. For all I know she could be a lesbian, but she looks like "the good kind" to me My last g/f was definitely not a lesbian, though she did fondly refer to her Subie as "the lesbian-mobile" so I'd say that gets half credit...

Honestly how many of us would buy the Genesis if it had a Mazda badge on it. It even kinda looks like it could be a modern MX-6.
Yeah, how dare they badge the car they made with their own marque.

I've said it before and I will say it again. I don't want any logos for the car company on the car. They have a marketing department for advertising. My biggest gripe is that the awful flat spot on the nose of the twins for their stupid logos.

a manufacturer can only do so much but it's up to its fans and buyers to change that view. so if you dont like it, change it.

OP, the letter was nicely addressed, in a very mature way as well. It was nice hearing your opinion! Happy for you that it was published!

Since Scion is a marque of Toyota, I never understood--and I still don't--why people disliked it being badged as one. Most non-86 enthusiasts (who aren't fanboys of another car), in other words, regular civilians, still praise the car for its looks, despite the badge.

Every Scion ever made, except the first gen tC, is just a rebadged Toyota from Japan or Europe's market. I've always looked at the Scion xA as the Toyota Ist, just like how I looked at the previous Lexus RX's as the Toyota Harrier. xB as the bB, xD as the newer Ist/Urban Cruiser, tC mk2 as the Zelas, iQ as iQ, and now the FR-S as the 86/GT86.

In other words, the Scion brand has always been invisible to me so I guess that's why I see no problem in Toyota badging the car as a Scion.

Totally agree. That's why EVERY Scion logo is gone and replaced with the T. My registration in Cali says Toyota too .

OK, so i understand that Toyota made some cars that you consider "iconic"

But i really don't get this stupid hate vs the Scion Brand at all. Think about it, you want a Toyota badge instead... because nothing screams passion like the brand that is mostly identified with appliances like the Camry and Prius right?

Very rarely do I see a "riced out" Scion. "Riced out" Celicas and Supras are more common around here. And there are WAY more "riced out" Subarus than anything else. So this argument about not wanting to belong to that crowd blows my mind.

Anways, enjoy your cars people. Don't worry about the labels. Worry about how much fun you and others are having for 25k. In the end, THAT'S the community you belong to.
way to totally miss the point. he said he's disappointed that they didn't offer more trim levels and being dictated to about what "choices" he could have.

I would've bit the bullet and bought a "Scion FR-S" if it had been brought over as a Scion 86 GT Limited, but it wasn't and that's the point that he and I agree upon and many others do.
