not fair my a$$! Californians have to miss out on about 80% of the $hit on this forum.

Exactly on 91 octane i would expect to lose quite a bit. I wish they would offer the choice of 91 and 93 octane maps with the base kit. It's either this kit or the Vortech for me depending on finalized numbers for each.

I don't think it's as simple as saying 49 vs 1. I'd be willing to bet over half of their purchasers in the states only have access to 91. California, for example, purchases a lot more sports cars in general than most states, and the people that live here generally see 4 grand as less money (going by percentage of income) than someone that lives in North Dakota, for example. I think it was just a business decision on their part to initially have the 91 map.

Losing interest

This 91 tune could be the downfall for me. I'll wait for the SEMA details but 5 psi and 91 tune sounds like disapointment even at the projected price point.

Getting to 8-9 psi on 93 tune could cost more than one of the other kits.

Why? I don't believe any other kit even comes with a base map.

As someone that works in the automotive aftermarket I can tell you that a decent chunk of business does come from California but it is not enough to make the business case you are suggesting. Texas, Florida, Virginia, and New York each produce as much or more business than California. That being said, I do not know what the fuel situation in those other states is like so that component could be valid. I know we have all the 93 we need here.

Taken Friday.

I haven't said that we won't have a 93 map, just that it's not what will come out first.

And on a 5psi build, the difference between 91 and 93 isn't going to be as large as 20+ psi build. This isn't an all-out, max hp base map - this is a daily driver map.

Would love to, but it seems the good jobs force you into SoCal or New York.
