I was 5 seconds away from baking these open too (I was going to paint inside top and bottom but NOT the rear curved reflector) but decided to wait and see how I like the balance as is this week and decide next weekend when I do my next mod project (this next one will have a lot of fans and HATERs, trust me, people will both love and hate it- top secret for now).

I appriciated his post.. It gave me some other idea's in case I was in OP's position. I don't make the mistake he made.. No reason to work 2x as hard, for something that costs a very minimal amount more.

I was hoping someone would do this eventually. Looks much better than all blacked out IMO.

I baked and painted my turn signal housings. Painted whole reflector gloss black. Still plenty of light output during day and night.

Better then I thought. I think if I black mine out I will use led bulbs to help boost visibility with reduced reflection.

Thanks for pics

What type of paint did you use to paint your HLs?

nice lights

I like yours. Here is a picture of mine. I did not do mine too dark because I did not want problems with the cops. I can say that they are alot lighter in person.

Semi - Gloss Black _____ (I forget the brand) but it's from HomeDepot, and is what the majority of their spray paint brand is.

Same thing I used on the interior of my tail lights. I prefer it to flat or high gloss. Also more then "Auto enamel".
