Engine wise most likely the piston rings, other than that the clutch will go out.

bearings I'm pretty sure. like someone else said, the ringlands will stay alive until there is detonation. heck, they were able to push 1270hp out of a 4.8L V8 ls type engine with 27psi of boost on 110 octane for over 60 pulls and it didnt blow up. oh, the engine had 200k miles too. as long as the tune keeps detonation away we're good.

This is interesting because the EJ engines have narrow rod bearings and oil pump issues arise every so often. Toyota also uses very narrow bearings around 14mm wide or so. Most other turbo engines use rather wide bearing profiles. 4g63, sr20, and even the k20 have much wider bearings around 17-19mm wide.
Then again, the bearings on the fa20 are much longer. Though narrow, the crank journals seem to be rather large in total diameter, and perhaps this increases oil film surface area. |
