I would never consider a TC and neither would most real car enthusiasts. I know plenty of true car guys who have owned a Si or type-S and NONE would even think about a TC, sorry bro.
An SI is not some super class above a tC. Get real. They both are sporty coupes, not sports cars.

Thank you. I live by one of the best race tracks in the country, and I don't think I have ever seen a TC on it other than Rado's, so I honestly wondered.

You clearly aren't very smart if you truly believe that the 8th gen Si and TC are in the same class. Have you driven either on a road course? I bet you are the kind of guy who has never been to the track, nevermind.

There is a reason SCCA puts them in two separate classes for Solo II.

The market didn't; the manufacturer did. The Elise/Exige don't meet US crash standards (I don't know if they ever did); they had a waiver that expired last year and Dany Bahar was more interested in paying "Swizz Beatz" his VP salary than certifying the car. AFAIK the cars are still available outside of North America.

In fact, there's an Exige with the supercharged V6 from the Evora S.

i think its easy to get confused as much of the voice you hear come from this forum. it is in no way representative of the public.
I don't see how anyone with a goal to own a performance car would choose a tc. There are just too many better choices out there. Any generation rx7, e36 or e46 m3 or 330i, 350z, s2000, early boxster or Cayman, mazdaspeed 3, focus st, wrx, srt-4, miata, civic si, rx8, cobalt ss turbo, gti... The list just keeps going.

And don't be surprised if all tC owners want to race your ass when your car not making more whp than the new tC. Me for one also want to see how my tC stack up against an FRS. Even tho that im sure I will lose.

I have raced against them both. An SI has an LSD and more power over a tC factory wise. But again...this is at the track, cars are seldom stock.

I care less about what class a "stock" car gets put. As soon as you add mods, classes change. Track is 90% driver to boot.

Mostly just being a smartass.
But I am curious to know what metric you're using to define "best".

Seen tCs pass every car on that list at the track...maybe that has a little bit to do with it.

I'm just wondering why it seems as if TC owners hate the FR-S. For me today was the tipping point as a white TC sped past and cut me off when there was no logically reason to switch lanes. Then slow down, wait for me at the light and rev...
I think your comment is based on one person cutting you off......who happened to own a tC. I'm 36, own a tC, and love the FR-S/BRZ and could care less who owns what car. A car is an expression of oneself - and everyone's likes are different. I think the tC owner you ran into the other day was probably just a punk trying to show off. I'm waiting another year to see if they make any changes and if not, I'll likely purchase one.

Try not to group all drivers into a group.......because we are all different.

They are in different prepared classes also....

If I had to pick one of those cars to build and race again, I would have a hard time deciding between the RSX and the S2K. There was just something about a borderline perfect 6 speed mated to a Naturally aspirated 120 hp per liter 8600 RPM engine (with very few mods).

You can make any turd fast. The point is that in order to get that turd to move, it needs way more work than most of the other cars we are talking about. It comes from the factory ready to fall on it's face.
