Again, just MO... but if you have different priorities, why are you modifying the car? No one is saying you can't or shouldn't have different priorities, just suggesting that you don't cheap out on modifying something just because you don't want to spend too much on it or don't want to wait until you have the money to do it right. I have more priorities than modifying my car, which is why it's 100% stock other than tint for now. I know what parts I want, and I know what they'll cost so I'm putting what I consider "reasonable" aside every pay until I have enough to buy what I want. Sure I could just chop off the muffler until I can buy a catted/resonated header back exhaust (~$1700), but I would rather not do something half assed out of impatience. It's also a bit easier for me since we're about to head into winter and I have zero desire to be under a car installing parts when it's below 0 out

To add to the "safety" of this, in Ontario (Canada, no California) we have drive clean tests, and a car can't pass if the exhaust exit isn't behind the passenger compartment, even if it passes the sniffer test on the dyno. The reasoning is that if the exhaust exit is under the passenger compartment it's easier for exhaust gases to get inside the car.

Yes, I realize there are some cars stock (Mercedes McLaren SLR) that don't satisfy this and they are road legal up here, but if you've modified an exhaust and the tech is following the rules you'll fail.

Hacker (hobbyist): a hacker is a person who enjoys exploring the limits of what is possible, in a spirit of playful cleverness, either to make it better or faster or to give it added features or to make it do something it was never intended to do.

I thought there would be more people like this in this community, as I come from a computer/electronics background.

I really don't want to talk about this anymore.

I can't believe people are doing this shit to their car. I have an extremely limited budget to play with on my car, but I've gotten a berk muffler delete and drop in filter. If you want your car to sound awesome and go faster, do it right and get those parts. For less than $200 you will gain about 6-8hp and it sounds amazing.

Washers...no, just no. This car isn't some old beater.

How much did you get the dual delete for? The only one I have seen is the crawford and that's quite a bit.

well it either take the muffler off to see what the exhaust sounds like and melt the bumper off. Or do it the safe way with the washers and not melt your bumper off.

for me personally i have to hear the non resonated raw exhaust from my car before i can decide what exhaust/resonator combo it needs to sound good, so ill drive my car around without an exhaust for a bit before i can decide what i want to live with in an exhaust then go down and get it built, or buy one i know that will sound great with my car

I've heard the car with a race pipe ( single outlet )and a dual outlet muffler delete. I think it sounds pretty good if you do not mind the noise. It is not very loud at all at an idle with either, just when your on the gas. The washer deal I would be skeptical of the sound. But hey people have been doing stuff like this for years. Do what you like, screw everyone else opinion. Just don't CO2 yourself. LOL

PS and dont drive down my street before 6AM Mkay?

temporarily doing that with the intent of installing a proper system is alright, but not when its left hacked together/apart for awhile. that's a recipe for a retarded ricer.

agreed, but i dont have a whole lot of time, so i have rims, tires, intake, a shop ready to build my exhaust, a place to do my tune, but it all just sits because i need an entire day to bolt it together and tune/ align so i dont have anything to worry about

see, now that's completely rational.
