Anyone know the out-of-box compression and rebound settings? I have 8 clicks front and 10 rear.

Thanks.

I always thought you could just adjust settings from any setting.

After looking at the manual, I am supposed to turn clockwise to the hardest setting and make adjustments from there.

After about 100 plus runs on my car since new..I am still very impressed with how the KW Var3 works... I have said it from the beginning that they got it right to begin with. They did the R&D and its shows...I have done some minor tweaks to my initial setup but its not that far off from the factory recommended settings.. a couple of clicks on the Rebound and compression, the ride height, and camber settings...(I am using front Plates).. I don't know how the others compare to the KW's but I Know that I got the best product for the money to be competitive in my Class.. the car has a number of class wins and a couple of index wins.. so the car is competitive..
-Recommendations:
Alignment is absolute critical with this platform, My car has been on the rack 4 times before I finally figured out the 'sweet spot'
-KW's have multiple settings for bump and rebound...Don't be afraid to experiment a bit to know what the suspension is doing.
-Ride height is also critical with this platform... Slammed is not the optimum handling option for this car.. it will take some time to play with that too...again don't be afraid to experiment.
-spring rates are a personal choice...but I will say the KW's are pretty good out of the box...I have tweeked the spring rates to my liking making the car handle better..but Know that the stock spring rates are adequate..
-Sway bars: I have not found a need to swap out sway bars with the KW's... I have upgraded the bushings and the endlinks...as well as the Rear subframe bushings..Less movement overall makes the car more predicatable..

thats my review in a nutshell ... I won't get into specifics on my settings, Alignment or my setup...I will give you general information... ...besides that my driving style might be alot different than yours..... I will say my car is setup to shave 10ths off not just seconds... I will be fighting for a championship next year so I am trying to get the car as comfortable as possible that is fast and instills the most confidence driving it..

one last thing...Car is setup to run with NO Traction Aids whatsoever...ALL OFF..
hope this helps

Bill

wonder if the whiteline bushings will make a difference on the subframe, I know its out of the subject but look at the movement on the video.

What a great thread, great idea! I'm certainly on the KW bandwagon for sure, and they seem to be our hottest selling suspension part we sell, great stuff!

I would definitely consider the KW's...LIFETIME warranty should do it.. Talk to Sam at Strano Performance...I hear he can get a smoking Deal on these... PM him or Call ...
I absolutely love them... Nothing against any of the other brands.. just my opinion of course..

Any other Questions LMK

Absolutely.. make a difference... more precise input means less slop.., more planted rear and faster times..

Finally did some autocrossing! Went through the alignment before the event. Here is what I ended up with.
Camber 2.5 front and 1.9 rear
Toe zero front and 2mm total toe in rear

Shock settings, started out about in the middle.
front 6 bump and 9 rebound
rear 5 bump and 8 rebound

First thing I found is I think I need a bit more front camber. Tires were rolling over pretty good and was pushy at turn in. Tho tire temps were dead even across the tire. Not sure how important tire temps are.

Next is I was getting oversteer trying to put down power out of corners and in the slolom.

I messed around with the shock settings and got the car a little better. I tried both stiffer and softer and it got better little softer, but the problems were still there.

So I get pictures last night and it looks like I am lifting the rear tire and almost the front. Looks like a stiffer front and maybe rear might be in order.

Open to all sugestions.

Tires are 255 star specs and running 35 front 33 rear. Stock fsb. Only mods are the Kws with the stiffer spring on the front and rear whiteline camber bushings.
Should add that this is a relatively low grip surface. Pad is very new.
