Well that's grand, but I could care less about Subaru motors. I'm more concerned about Toyota motors/engines; that is why I phrased it: "Is this good for any Toyota motor?" Thank you for the info though; I did not know that about the green/blue. |

Toyota Long Life Coolant (Red) was used in vehicles up to 08/2003 production.
Toyota Super Long Life (Pink) is used in vehicles from 08/2003 production on, with exception of FR-S, which uses blue. From the description in the owner's manuals it sounds like the Pink and Blue stuff are pretty similar. Scion FR-S Description: "Use either Super Long Life Coolant BLUE or similar high-quality ethylene glycol-based nonsilicate, non-amine, non-nitrite, and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology" Other Toyota/Lexus/Scion Models: "Use either Supra Long Life Coolant or similar high-quality ethylene glycol-based nonsilicate, non-amine, non-nitrite, and non-borate coolant with long-life hybrid organic acid technology" Toyota lists their Super Long Life Coolant as being compatible with their older Long Life Coolant. That's total bologna. Subaru's magic blue coolant is just standard ethylene glycol based with a bit of diethylene glycol and some water (50%).
It's the same base composition as standard cheap green coolant but with blue dye instead of green and a higher price tag. You can drain and go back and forth without issue. |

11 Years! Holy insanity. I couldn't imagine waiting that long to change the coolant in my car especially living in Arizona.

When you buy any aftermarket coolant , just make sure they meet the manufacturer's approval and that will be all good.

Unless you have done HPLC and can prove it dont suggest it just for color. its not. That said, you can use BMW blue as well. |
