I have mobil 1 in mine right now and don't like it so much, although i run mobil one in the rest of my cars. I can't tell u why i don't like it, just something doesn't feel right to me.

Ill be switching to GC 0w30w. I hear boxer engines love it!

I didn't catch that, thank you. I may give them a call and see what the deal is with that. One of the reasons I was going with them was because the company I work for I can get a decent discount with Amsoil.

Everyone gets a discount with amsoil its a triangular top with a square base scheme.

Also, both amsoil and RP API oils are different formulation from the original so no sense in investing in marked up mobil1 + food coloring.

My post on BITOG regarding this subject yielded using Toyota 0w-20 in my BRZ. That's what I'm gonna do at my first oil change in about 600kms

The OE oil does. The Signature Series oils are not submitted to the API or ILSAC for certification. Amsoil does not want these organizations telling them how much of what additives to put in their oils, so they offer the OE and XL lines for people that want weak API/ILSAC oils.

You read wrong.

The machine that they use in their engine oil marketing is more suitable for testing the Extreme Pressure additives in gear oil.

So you are saying that the SS line of Amsoil is a more robust oil?

I haven't compared them lately, but the SS line usually has more detergents/dispersants and anti-wear additives.

I ran 0w20 mobile 1 extended mileage(gold bottle, 15k miles) in my last car i hit the rev limit at least 6 times a day on average for 2 years on the engine (car was 10 years old and had over 80k miles when i picked it up, put a nother 80k on the engine in that time), ohh yeah and 1 year and some odd months i had a 9800 rpm redline and was pushing over 110 whp per liter NA on that engine, i trust that oil in just about any NA street car, if you track i suggest mobile 1 race oil 10w40 or motul, both are very resilliant oils!

Maybe there used to be, but there is no Mobil1 EP 0W-20.

http://www.mobiloil.com/USA-English/...rformance.aspx

They do have a 5W-20, but the 0W-20 is now Advanced Fuel Economy.
