i suggest getting only digital HID xenon kits, the analog kits you see for sale are usually less than $100/kit, and those WILL fail in a couple months time, i guarantee it, i've had both and i stay away from all analog hid kits
I've had a ddm kit on my civic for over a year with no problems, my miata has had them with no problems and so did my other miata...so far so good on my frs too, ive seen some kits from ebay go out faster tho

Did you buy the kit with the heavy duty relay or the can-bus?

Relay, shouldn't need the can bus harness.

How do you know what's digital and what's analog?

All analog kits have a DC electrical circuit in them, and all digital kits have an AC electrical circuit in them. Visually, you can tell because MOST digital kits have an external ignitor, metal casing, and are advertised as full AC digital ballasts.

I have both DC and AC HID xenon kits, but I do not like selling the DC kits because they will fail in time, i've been using AC digital kits on my 2010 Odyssey, 93 Civic, 93 RX7, and fog lights for my 05 TL for 3+ years without any issues at all. I've also installed about 50+ kits this year alone for customers that are local to me and they are all very satisfied.

note: different vendors/manufacturers will have their different style ballasts with different appearances, this is just how MINE are

DC analog slim ballast, you can see it has a cheaper quality appearance, plastic housing, internal ignitor that generates the most heat out of the whole unit that will cause other parts to fail

AC digital slim ballast, much better housing, full aluminum casing so it acts as a heat sink, external ignitor to keep heat away from sensitive electrical components and circuit board, all insulated internal parts and 100% water proof, this is what you should buy

here's a comparison between different color bulbs, bulb temperature does not affect brightness, so a 8000k bulb does NOT mean it is brighter than a 3000k, these are simply COLORS..BUT a 8000k bulb will appear blue which means you might see less compared to a 5000k pure white bulb, but everybody's eyes are different and adjust differently.

once again, these are MY colors, some other vendors might have different colors, i don't sell anything above 8000k because that's just getting into purple and violet, and is not only illegal, but will serve no purpose on the road

If there was it would probably look pink and red lights are extremely illegal anyways.
