Seeing how I got a reckless for doing a burnout I would say you can get the same ticket. It is also a myth that a cop can't ticket you in a parking lot. If he sees you doing it he will come after you.

Depends on the ticket. If it's written improperly, if there's no evidence to back it up, if it's a fix it ticket, if I have evidence to refute claims and the officer isn't there.
If he see's you doing it and has evidence to support his claim yes, but if he hears a burnout, and pins it on you without more evidence it can be contested. As I stated you must be witnessed performing the violation, or the property owner must file a complaint.

It is all based the cops discretion, some are more forgiving than others and will let you off lightly, while some are out to prove a point. Hawaii does not take modified cars and everything that goes with it lightly, hence recon.

The trick is to be quick about it. I get in, do a few slides then get out of there before anyone can show up. Although most likely they will just tell you to leave

If I were to practice drifting in abandon parking lot, I would bring a spot with me. Someone to stand outside and just keep a look out for any on lookers or cops -- basically and funny business.

I can speak from experience on this, a lot of experience... more than I care to admit to.
Basically, when you are caught by an officer, or if there bored, 12 of them and a helicopter, you are at their mercy. They will give you at worst a wreckless driving ticket, which you can usually talk down to improper driving in a parking lot. It makes no difference if its private property or not unless you are the property owner. Weve been swarmed on private lots, public lots, multiple states, you name it, doesnt matter, they can do it. If they ticket you, you can not get it thrown out, the courts have the power to ammend the tickets for any improperly filled out portion, and can even change the offense code at the courts discretion. The best you can hope for is a reduced ticket. How to avoid the above scenario: Scope out a bunch of different lots, close to 10 or so should make for a decent night. Spend no more than 3 minutes at each lot before moving on to the next one, this should be enough for each member to have a 1 minute drift session before you drive on out to the next one. If anyone complains, you are long gone by the time they respond to your location 3 lots ago. DO NOT go to the same lot twice in a week. They will figure it out and modify a night patrol to roll nearby, and do not go to a lot within earshot, or reasonable distance of the police dispatch. Do not travel together, any passing by officer will be sure to tail you after the first report. DO NOT have any questionables in your car at all, that will make what would be just a wreckless ticket turn into an arrestable offense with felony charges. I give you this advice so that you can decide for yourself if this is what you want to do, and understand everything we have had to go through to keep the art alive.

I always take 2 thing with me for dorifto - 1 cone and 1 banana peel.
Once you get knocked in the window by a fatty cop, you can always blame the peel got into the way while you were gently parking, and point to some road repair workers forgetting the cone. works fine for me ))) |
