http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/595786525/Two_Din_Universal_Android_Car_DVD.html Also, thank you for comparing a 64 bit / dual core / 3.1 Ghz / 32nm / with support for 32GB DDR3-1333 to an A8 at 1Ghz and complaining about the cost, next you should compare it to the Z80 in a Ti83 to show how powerful it is! And I'm sure the Android radio has a 120GB SSD running at SATAIII speeds, also thank you for including 14.2 surround sound I never thought that you could spend twice as much money on a radio then I did on my full case water cooled gaming rig, but hey, at least you can run all of the latest FPS on that tiny pc at 800x480 so I guess its not a total loss, sure beats angry birds at $600. Also also, you seemed to get confused about parts of the amplifier, the RCA lines are boosted, same thing you can do with a $10 pre-amp at the output of any headphone jack, not that you would notice that with the 14.2 channels...

Well that would be a little hard since my carputer was in my Dodge Magnum I had before the BRZ, and the carputer was actually replaced with a Samsung Galaxy Tab install, sadly I haven't time yet to get the Galaxy Tab in the BRZ yet, or my stereo system, it's all sitting in my closet.

@ProTekk I sent a PM to you about some Android development!
Back IT: I don't car whether is Android, Win8, iOS or whatever, the important thing it that it responds to the necessity I wrote in the previous post. About the tablet in-dash: what are the main limitaions? A Kindle Fire or similar stuff is quite cheap in comparison. Do you need to fit an amp I imagine, so the price grows quite a bit... |

Needs more Jellybean or root/CM10
Would rather figure out how to make a Nexus 7 work and then I could enjoy quad-core tegra 3 goodness, and keep it updated as new ROM's are released. I'd feel weird having to use Froyo again, it looks and feels archaic. |

Yup, or alternatively and what I had done in my last car is to make the tablet easily removable so then I could just get into the car, pull it out of my purse and pop it into the dock I molded into the dash and go, and using this awesome app called Tasker I was actually able to set it so when I docked it it automatically unlocked the tablet, switched to my music player app and un-paused the music.

Oh, that's pretty cool, I wonder if I could set it to do the same when bluetooth is connected, I mean the BRZ's headunit at least will read texts, but only when it's connected properly which is maybe half the time tops, most of the time it will stream audio and voice calls, but doesn't stream track info, have media control, or read texts which is annoying. Right now I don't even use Tasker sadly since getting the BRZ, the only thing I ever used it for my was tablet in my old car.

2forme, Great write up. It's unfortunate that you had to spend so much time feeding a troll. Keep up the great information, a lot of us are very interested.

I'm totally down to get into a group buy if we could get the price to sub-$400.

I'm not sure if I should post my Ca-Fi review/comparison here... or start a new thread.
