Fucking cruse control light now stuck on! Baaaahaha
I didn't even know wtf that one was when I saw it lit up. Haven't driven it enough to even think about CC. Shit had to turn dome light on to find my cc button cuz they only let me drive my car like 10 whole days in a month.
My dash now looks like a Xmas tree! but hey, I haz shiny new cam sprockets and valves

Round 2 cel service tomorrow. Will keep y'all posted.

Guys, I'd be very careful about posting what you've done in the car in terms of RPM in your very public posts. The manufacturer's are likely watching these posts and they *could* claim you didn't follow break in procedures and therefore voided your warranty.

I know someone will say I'm being ridiculous.....fine. Take your chances, but why place yourself in that situation if you don't have to.....regardless of how unlikely it may be that the mfg may use what's posted in the forum against you?

Did you have both hard parts AND the ECU changed?

As an update, I've put about 150 miles on my car since the re-flash and it seems to be working fine. No CELs yet (knock on wood). I was planning on taking it on a 400 mile roadtrip, but didn't want to risk getting a CEL that far from my dealership. Hopefully will get a chance to drive it a bit more in the next week or so.

I don't know about the FA20, but on some cars, the dealer can retrieve that information from the ECU anyway (highest RPM, highest coolant temps, duration, etc.) Take a look at this:

Good point. I don't know about the FA20....but that's something else to consider.

Personally, having to baby a performance engine seems a little silly....but the lawyers write in loopholes that many mfgs will try and take advantage of....especially when they've really stepped in it with a design flaw that's going to cost a lot of $$$ to rectify.

I've noticed that engine vibration too around those rpms while holding the revs there with the clutch pressed in. Haven't really had any idle issues. Some times it seems like the car settles into the normal idle speed to early before the engine is warmed up causing the idle to be a little rough. But, I haven't had the issue with rpms jumping around at idle and the engine shaking and stalling out.

Called my Scion Rep Darren, said a lot of the ecu's got expedited nationwide late last week so a lot of dealers should be getting these ecu's shortly.

No update on my car though Haven't been able to get in touch with my service writer.

Just curious: Has anyone ever, ever ever been busted by a mfr. based on a forum post? I have never heard of it happening.

Why take the chance and be the first? If it hasn't already happened.....
