There is a bit of confusion when it comes to the definition of the resonator sizes.
The resonator that originally came standard is 17.5" long with 12" body and 4" around. There was also an option for a smaller one if you wanted a louder sound to the exhaust that was 11.5" long with a 6" body and 4" around. The newest resonator is the same length as the original one, but it's 5" around and makes the exhaust hang a bit lower due to the increased diameter. Can we perhaps refer to them as largest/middle/smallest, instead of larger/smaller? The suffix "er" should only be used when comparing two items, and it's hard to determine whether you're talking about the larger of the original 2 sizes vs. the current largest one. |

Hey everyone who has received their exhaust, I need some advice. My kit just arrived at its destination, so now I have to drive across the boarder in North Dakota to pick it up this Friday. If I take my FRS down, do you think it would all fit inside (rear seats down, passenger seat forward. Or should I take my 2004 corolla... and have a boring lame drive .....

Awesome! Thanks guys! Hopefully I get my ECUTek flash software before this weekend so I can have some extra fun while driving there and back.
I also hope the roads are slightly wet in the curvy bits...its a long flat drive - manageable excitement is always nice. ![]() Quote:

I finally received mine this past Friday and it came with some shipping dings. Fixed them with a ball peen hammer, wood block, and elbow grease. Also the two tips are not on the same horizontal plane. Is this common with the rest of you? Also noticed some spotty exterior welding areas. Internally might be sound though.
Oh and why didn't the axelback piping not come covered? I had to blow compressed air through it to get all the stuffed peanuts out of them. I am going to install it this weekend, before I take a trip to the north shore! Hopefully no fitment issues. :happy0180: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Looks like shipping took a toll on yours as well. One of my tips was severely damaged and the exhaust looks cross-eyed right now. They should have been all covered; at least mine were minus where UPS destroyed parts of the box and the pipes were sticking out of the side.
The welding error is on the resonator that comes from Vibrant. SRT wouldn't have done anything to any part that is polished looking except where it meets the pipe. |
