IIRC, transactions under $250 are returned as cash. Anything more and it's returned via mailed check. They may have raised the minimum to $500, but don't quote me on that. Could always call to confirm.

I saw that one, but it's a larger laptop and I didn't want something that big in the car. But if it's your only laptop, it's not a bad choice. I've got a Asus G73 17" gaming laptop already so another large laptop was not something I needed.

XPS13

Actually fits in the glovebox.
Probably the best small PC on the market.
Carbon Fiber shell, magnesium and aluminum case.

Actually, the best ultrabook would be an Asus Zenbook Prime or a Samsung Series 9 based on reviews and recommendations on notebookreview.com. But for a car laptop that's going to get jostled around I just don't see spending $800+ to make much sense.

I just use my Samsung Series 7 Slate (what an alliteration...)

Has a dock, so you can have a secondary monitor/ home workstation. Lift it from the dock and you have a fully functioning tablet. i5 processor, 4GB RAM, 64gb SSD, Wifi, Bluetooth, yada yada...

The combo (I highly recommend Win8 over 7 in this setup)

I'd suggest a Win8 tablet as well.

I use a toughbook U1. Works well for most of my car needs and is tough as nails. I picked up a 1st gen one for about $250 on eBay.

Standard laptop battery life. I can get 6+ out of it, but with multiple applications running I would estimate 4ish?
