Well, we agree that it doesn't have the Jag pizzaz, but still a damn sexy car IMHO. It's been one of the most pleasant concept-to-production transitions, retaining most of the concept design.

Gorgeous. Want. I'm not disappointed at all. I expected a roadster version of the CX16, and that's what they delivered.

Ran the configurator last night. I'll take mine in Italian Red, or whatever the color was called, in supercharged V8 flavor.

Though I'd rather have the coupe.

The design looks stunning in pictures and I'm sure it could only get better when viewed in person.

Then I looked at the specs: 1597kg minimum weight.

Really? With an all aluminum chassis? Is the engine made out of lead and the gearbox from depleted uranium? I hope that's just a mis-quote and not a real figure.

Also, not having a manual option is disappointing, but I guess the manual trans is past the point of no return.

Fail! Everyone knows it's all about the retractable hard tops! Stolen Mercedes Gull design, anyone?

I'm in love. Depending on dimensions, pricing, performance, and whether or not it carries a third pedal, this could be my next toy. Probably not, but maybe.

...sorry, I'm not sure what you're suggesting here. (And shouldn't this be in the "other cars" section?)

Edit: Also? Eww... Waited so, so long for them to finally build this car, and this is what they came up with? Oh Jaguar, what happened to you...
350Z headlights are sharp and have straight edges. I'd say they look like slightly rounded 7th gen Celica headlights.

Yeah yeah, I know they aren't in the same league. Still, the picture reminded me of that.

At first I thought, "Cool, a new Jaguar sports car they claim will be affordable for the younger crowd," and then they estimate the price for the 3.0L V6 starting at $60,000+... It's just a front engine V6 with rear wheel drive! Why does it have to be so expensive!? It even only uses sliding brake calipers!

OK, it's an aluminum chassis, I'll give them that but I'd much rather they try to make it with an affordable steel chassis. With this economy in Europe and North America, who wants yet another 60+ thousand dollar rear wheel drive convertible? Sure, it's kinda cool looking, sure, it may be fun, and sure, they will sell some, but when you look at a car like the 86/BRZ which costs 3x less and is almost as good, and probably in some ways even more fun, I just don't see how it can be justified. Not to mention, it's not going to be that much different or cheaper than the Jaguar XK. So needless to say, I am disappoint.
