I'd run 17's because they're cheaper and easier to spin. 17x9 +45- +35 would be perfect.

I would say some federal 595 17-225's max with stock horse power. I drifted most of the autocross i went to the other day and the car did great because is was a 1st-2nd gear course but the stock car will have problems with 3rd gear unless you knew what you were doing.

I ran 17 235 rsr front and 17 245 in the rear with a 300whp made to drift car and it produced OK smoke but the motor couldn't bounce rev limit in 3rd unless they were super aired up. The 161whp FR-S is going to have hard time spinning 225 in 3rd enough to produce smoke unless you're really beating the hell out of it. However to just slide around and practice they'll be good that's the tire I would go with. They'll last for days.

For reference these are 17 245 fed 595 at the top of 3rd but the engine doesn't have enough power at 300whp to bounce rev limit. But it sat 500 off redline for the whole sweeper at WOT.

If you're a beginner get another set of 215 or 205 economy tires and spin those for days while you learn.

Nexen N3000 seem to last a very long time but I am partial to running Dunlop DZ101 in the rear, awesome grip and never had any issues with chunking.

sorry...but none. If you have to ask this question, then you still need to crash a 240sx or two or three. You are going to go through a lot of money if you try learning to drift with a new car. The best tires are going to be the free ones. Make friends, network, and use the take-offs from a tire shop that you (technically illegally of course) get from a shop.

Dunlop DZ101's are good for the price.
never had any issues - puts down good smoke.

Yokohama S.Drive's seem to last a bit longer, stays consistent, less smoke then DZ101's.

Hankook V12's are good, didn't last as long as the S.Drives, but does smoke well.
Tires get greasy once they get pretty warm. Needed to cool down more then the other tires.

Certain Kumho's we ran actually delaminated completely. I believe they were the LE Sport.

Not a drifter myself, but I got my Fed 595ss from Powered By MAX (drift shop). The guy who runs the shop (Dan) said they use the 595rsr mounted backwards on the rear for drifting because mounted the correct direction they start to chunk and break apart after a while. No personal experience, just what I heard from a crazy drift junkie.

OR...go get some cheap used tires from the ghetto tire shop and go roast 'em.
