Surprised you're doing a sale in November, don't get me wrong - that's fantastic, but I always thought it was cheaper to get the winters during the off-season.
Tires, wheels etc. We will be acquiring a tire mounting and balancing setup shortly, so we plan to kick it off with a snow tire/rim sale. Since we are a Tirerack Reseller we can get some decent prices on tires etc.

Good thing I have 2 weeks vacation time to burn for this.

I'll also be picking up a set of Rally Armor mud flaps to protect the sides and bottom of the car from debris being knocked up. Depending on how they look come spring, I may leave them on.

As for tires and wheels, I haven't decided yet. I may get a set of 17in snow tires and get a different set of wheels come spring, or pick up a set of 16in steelies and 55 width snow tires. Opinions?
We have the rally armor mud flaps available now, so don't forget us.

I just bought a set of TC rims to use on my frs this winter, because i got a killer deal on CL. I took the gamble cause I'm fairly sure the offset will not be an issue, same size wheel, same size tire BUT the TC wheel uses mag style lug nuts. I didnt notice till I got home and am kicking myself, So I will report back but it my understanding that if the wheel is not hub centric it won't work, to top it off the TC lug nuts are 12-1.5 and frs is 12-1.25 so to test it I need to buy new lugs.

According to posts above, the wheel should work. Good catch on the Lugs. I still have a full set of the tC lugs--you think that will work?

TC lugs are the wrong pitch (1.5 vs 1.25) so they won't work. Looks like mine will be back up for sale, from what I've read the tc wheel has a 54.1mm bore while the frs has a 56mm hub, and I'm no sure machining them out 2mm is cost effective. Can't measure till I get home later tonight but ill report back once I do.

Ok, just making sure here--the tC lugs in the Tc wheels on the FR-S have the wrong pitch? You referring to the spacing between the threads on the bolt?

And anyone else know about this? Winter seems to be suddenly becoming much more annoying for me...

Yes exactly, the pitch of the studs on the fr-s is 1.25 (threads are close together) where the threads on the inside of the TC lug nuts are 1.5 (threads further apart).

Just got a chance to measure the bores and tried to test fit, they will not work, as stated before the wheels have a small 54.1mm bore which won't fit over the 56mm FR-S hub. I'm sure they could be machined out but its not worth the hassle for me and they were cheap enough so I should be able to actually make some money off of it. Damn shame too cause they look really nice.

Anyone in the NJ area want some cheap TC wheels? haha

Mike - I'll be watching out for your sale! And I'm local!

Now I'm just disappointed, Damn! At least the tires will still fit, now to find some steelies...

The convention, at least up here in the midwest, is to have them on by Thanksgiving and take them off after St. Patrick's day, though I usually have left mine on into April, depending on the weather.

The trick is that you don't want to be driving on snows that much in warmer temperatures, because the rubber is softer than your stockies/summer tires and will wear out more quickly.

Summer Performance Tires aren't really designed for use below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, so whenever your region starts to see temperatures drop below 50F during your normal commute, I'd consider putting the winters on.

We started to drop below 50 here in NY this past week, so I'll be swapping out this weekend.

yea today was pretty warm though. the constant fluctuation is what's making me unsure of when to swap. anyways i ordered them this weekend and they're shipping from delaware so i should see them within the week. got my stock wheels sitting in the garage to mount these tires on. probably won't switch until it's consistently 40's, maybe a few weeks.

also i noticed that you're a DGM BRZ on LI. i may have seen you pass by on stewart this past saturday.
