So i've been thinking about doing something like this as well with my Nexus, however I would put in in the passenger dash piece since i want to leave my upgraded audio alone / seperate.
Thinking about fiberglassing a tray for it, angled at the driver for Torque, etc. Do you know if ALL head units are too wimpy to supply the correct amperage via USB for charging? Looking to play with this here soon.

Absolutely. My GT6 Racing Sim seat/setup ended up being my project last month. So much fun.

I made it out of PVC and picked up an RSX-S Seat. Works great now, even though I only have it screwed together and not cemented. I will be taking it apart and painting it at some point too. Just gotta space out my pedals a bit and i'll be golden. Had to build it in the basement where i have limited space because i'm finishing another part of the basement (stuff all over) and it's too cold to do in the garage.
Anyways - here are the progression pics - http://s4.photobucket.com/user/Gophe...ry/Sim%20Chair
