My GNex seems to fit in both the stand-up cup holder insert and the longitudinal slot perfectly. Perhaps there is more than one variant out there.

This infuriated me when I attempted to run my power cable through the bottom. Nothing that a power drill won't fix though. The really annoying thing, for me at least, is that with a charger plugged into the lighter adapter in the center console, the cup holder has to be in the farthest back position. This makes reaching for a drink or for the phone an exercise in contortion.

I did exactly that. On the trip home from the dealership I pulled it out, threw it on the backseat and completely forgot about it for 7,000 miles!

I use the slot on the side of the console for my Droid X, and don't really need coins in the car so there it still sits in the back seat to this day. I'll probably take it out and put it with my stash of other parts I got with the car but have either replaced or don't need.

Right, so that means you are still running the cable above the insert. So it is pointless. If the cable could be concealed it is different. You are just complicating the system and not improving the look at all by running it there and down. The lower tray should have a pass through.

Cup holder organizer...now that is the coolest thing...I always have 3 pens in my pocket and coins that magically show up...would be great to have something other than the passenger seat to hold it all.

If I got one (and I didn't), I'd use it for spare change. However, I did get free splash shields (mud flaps) as well as both summer and winter (rubber) floor mats instead, so I think that's a fair tradeoff.

my drivers door rattle a little bit when i play music so i shoved it in the door cup holder to stop the small annoying rattle
