Is this what you talking about? If so, that payout is not that rewarding.

http://www.scca.com/documents/contin...ta-ProSolo.pdfPAYOUT SCHEDULE 1st
Per Event/Eligible Class $200
Year-End Points/Class Champion $1000
Year-End Points/Challenge Champion (Super/Ladies) $1000

In motorcycle road racing, for example here is Kawasaki's road racing contingency payout but you have to be fast as hell!

Toyota/TRD retains the option to name and/or change eligible categories, classes, and cars at any time during the 2011 season.

I'm in Germany because I'm stationed here for 3 years. I leave for Afghanistan in a month, and upon returning from my deployment, I will be stationed back in the states, and the FR-S will be close to release. So yeah, I do

Should be good for comparison though.
KBB is retarded. Market is more like it.

Plus comparing those 2 is stupid. 2 different segments. I'm comparing the same chassis car versus each other just different brand ie., You'd have to compare a Honda Civic Si to the tC, but they are 2 different prices, chassis, company but same segment. That's not what I'm trying to say.

Solstice vs Sky.. Solstice retains value better.

Cobalt SS vs Saturn Ion Redline.. Cobalt keeps the better value.

Eclipse, vs Talon.. Eclipse is valued more.

Mitsubishi 3kgt vs Stealth.. The 3kgt.

Your also forgetting the AST/Moton, Hoosier and other company payouts. It adds up. 1st place can get you over a thousand EASILY. IF you have a great co-driver you get 1st and 2nd place contingency using the same car. So more money.

You can also "double dip", co-driver runs a different "faster car class" with your slower class car and if he is good enough to get 1st place and not compete with your co-driver. You can double all your winnings. People get upset, but they should understand it's the driver that won not the car in that case.

To put it short it's worth it when a weekend 2 day event is only $95 per driver and your rewards are like $1500+ for having fun. You also are opened up to sponsorship getting more money and parts. It takes 1 hour each day, that's all. Noone to hit your car, really nothing to crash into, and your not going over 75-80mph. That's a lot of money.

Well, you are the one saying Subaru resale is better than Scion. How can you make that claim without a comparison? I was trying to guess your logic (usually a stretch in most posts) and decided to compare a 2.5L passenger coupe to a 2.5L passenger sedan with similar features, which like I said is probably the closest comparison currently available between the two lineups. Also, I was looking at %, not dollar amounts if that makes you feel better about varying chasis, classes, MSRP, etc.

KBB is usually a bit high for figuring out actual trade values when comparing to what a dealer offers, but in the essence of comparing car A to car B, the comparison is valid.

If you can put up some published numbers to support your claim, go for it. Otherwise it's just more strewn about these forums.

San Diego isn't too generous so if there $ to be made, its gonna be at least a 3-4 hr drive.

The SD races are held at Qualcomm Stadium. I know that once this car comes out, its gonna be all over the place! Hurry up with this car already!!!!!!!

Pros, Nationals, Timetrials, are money makers. We have over 5 road courses in a 2 hour drive where I live.

I love that video, I have it downloaded at home in one my archives.

The car will be crazy if weight is down and power output is good. The Solstice, Miata, Integra and some s2k guys are thinking of making the move into a different classes with this car. In my case I hope not. They are still on the fence til it's released, especially when some are already winning in their current cars/setups. It could be the new "it" car.

I'm hoping this is the case. A final uprooting of the miata as the official "cone eaters" car.

Small big shoes to fill. The Miata has style on it's side. I've always loved the interior of them since the NA model. The next gen Miata is said to kick the ass of the current NC, on paper that is.

I'm placing my bets on an overall more stable chassis (lack of ragtop) and lower CoG. Both contribute heavily to the technicality in events like Solo.

PA, if you don't mind me asking, how much do you pull in during a race weekend? Also what car are you using?

I could already see this class being the most competitive once this car comes out.

My GSR was a fun AX'er even though it was FWD. If the next gen Miata was a hardtop, that thing would be a really nice track car and might alleviate some of the common stereotypes from the past gens!

My class has the 7x national champion in it. Sam Strano in his 11 GT. Then you have Pat Griffith in the 83 Camaro. They are hard guys to beat, I will never beat them in my car. Our Division has the fastest F-Stock and ESP drivers in the US, if I lived by you I'd be making thousands. LOL I used to win in my built Street Modified Subaru last year, overall 3rd in points.

That's why the choice of Evo X and this upcoming FT86 platform. I can win in those classes.

Also Sam has faster raw times then higher classed car like Lotus Exige and C6 Zo6 with pro drivers, he is ungodly.

Sam

Pat
