A lot of time has been consumed by the scavenge pump in regards to the fitment testing and pump operation testing. I'm sure everybody will agree that that is a key piece of the kit, and it is something that everybody will find very interesting once we release those details.

Just to make a little more clear, the scavenge oil pump will be pumping the drain oil from the turbo back to the oil pan. With the turbo lower then the oil pan, it's required.

A teaser of the oil scavenge pump:
200cc in 7 seconds. A further teaser - there are no wires connected to this pump... |

bare with me.. i come from a world of lifted jeep wranglers and mudding and just completely switched to a BRZ.. so turbos are sooo new to me. I know with like lift kits theres always more that you need then what comes in the box.. is this the case with turbos? or will a kit be all you need.. just curious because one day i plan on doing this to my brz. thanks.

Like lit kits, it'll depend on the company supplying it. For some turbo kits you'll end up needing to drill things or buy hoses or clamps. Some will come with everything.

How long do these typically last? Any maintenance required? Any warning if it's going to die?

No idea, non at all. The only scavenge pumps I've worked on were on a 25000 hp gas turbine and those didn't go often and required VERY little maintenance. Honestly in the 12 years I did that job, I'd heard of one going. But that's a completely different application with (most likely) VASTLY different tolerances and R&D.

Thanks for the teaser. The scavenge pump is my biggest concern about your setup and I like the fact that I couldn't hear a noisy electric pump. Very curious to see what you are doing. I've heard of mechanical pumps driven off of cam gear. Is there going to be a reservoir? One of my worries is the pump being too efficient and running the turbo dry.
