The FR-S/BRZ are more affordable and are arriving when the economy is a little better, albeit not great by any means. I've already seen in person about 10 of the twins in just a few months.
Same here. It's hard to spot a 370Z. I rarely see one other than my own.

I checked the sale figures within the first 3 months of release for both cars, the 86 has massively out-sold the Z.

I'm no fan of the 370Z persay but I wouldn't hesitate to take one over a Genesis Coupe.

That's odd, I usually see at least one 370z everyday.. Though, I do see more 350s than 370s..

As Automobile Magazine stated:

"Before we stop for the night, though, we head to nearby Franklin, home to Nissan's North American headquarters, where we've been promised there will be a Z waiting for us. No, not a 370Z -- pitting the FR-S against a $9000 pricier two-door with 132 additional horsepower would be silly."

Yet this thread is almost 70 pages long!

It will be interesting to see if Nissan decide to go in a different direction with the new Z.

Well, you don't have to read it, and the cars are direct competitors if you consider both an FRS and a used Z with low miles, or if you're looking for a New Z and think about saving 10k.

Or when you consider that the vehicles are very similar in fun factor and one of the two is much more affordable, while the other may be faster.

It's a fun an interesting comparo, imo.

It's hard to compare new to used and keep a level playing field. In that case, a new Z is a direct competitor for a Z06.

I don't think that there's anything wrong with comparing two cars of any price range though. As long as people stay realistic about their expectations.

You have a fair point here, although we're talking about the FRS/BRZ and their competitors. You'd also be surprised to learn that I know a few people who traded C6 Z06 Corvettes for 370Z's, but that's getting off topic. But you're right, when you look at it showroom new vs. showroom new, the price matters a whole lot in this comparison.

It's like someone snapped a sneaky pic when the wolf was trying to take a peaceful dump in the woods...

The Z is in a higher class than the FR-S

FRS= 2 door/2 seater(IMO)/RWD/4 cylinder/200 hp Sports Car= base 25k
370Z= 2 door/2 seater/RWD/332hp/6 cylinder Sport car=base 34k
Corvette=2 door/ 2 seater/RWD/430hp/8 cylinder Sports Car=base 51k

When you look at it this way the 370Z is definitely not overpriced nor is the FRS. They are both perfectly priced. Notice the difference between a 6 and 8 cylinder car of the same type vs the difference between the 4 and 6 cylinder.

They're all overprice. They should each be ten dollars. Just for me though. Then they can mark them all up.

In all honesty though, I do think a lot of cars are overpriced. But that's because of the insane inflation.
