It's nice to know there is still some form of trust in today's society. He didn't even ride with me, he was waiting at the bottom and we came back down and showed him the video and talked about his car. The passenger also had an FR-S and rode along to get a feel for his own car, the screaming passenger has an RX-8 and was curious about the differences between his car and the FT.

Albeit not the best location for the test, we all got a lot of useful information out of the brisk drive. I invited each and every one of them to attend a track day with my other friends, we made plans to go soon when everyone's cars get some routine maintenance done. :happy0180:

Works both ways.

People can't possibly post things like this and not expect to get a little flak...

wanna drive dangerously ? go ahead, we are not stopping you. Just do it in a controlled environment ( track )

driving like crap on the street is just irresponsible.

if you drive like this on the streets i hope your car gets impounded so you dont put other people at danger anymore.

The driver in the video drives very safely on the street. I don't know about you but anyone (nearly everyone I see in this case) who speeds on the freeway, drives too fast in the rain, runs red lights, drives above 15 in a tight parking lot, and over 25 in residential areas are putting much more people in danger than an experienced driver on a secluded twisty road in the middle of the night with no other cars, staying in one lane, and doing it just this once for an FR-S test. We all know the risks and we all know that we should be safe, but let's not turn this video into a hate fest while we see much more irresponsible driving everyday on the streets (and maybe even do it ourselves for some of you).

Just like that picture above ^
I've received no tickets ever and I don't need to knock on wood because I'm a safe driver.

I used to drive at that limit on the street. I don't anymore because I've made some, and seen some mistakes that keep me a bit more reserved. Still, I drive plenty hard on canyons that I know well. I reserve 10/10 driving for the track/AutoX now.

Be careful!

hahaha I don't even drive 10/10 on a track... the most I felt I ever done is 9/10... I maybe went all out on ONE turn at a track and went a few inches into the dirt going like 70 in my tall ass fit, that was enough to ask myself to calm down a little.

Samsam has a good point, I have never gotten a ticket for speeding or reckless driving. The only ticket I've ever gotten was for taking people in my car before the probationary period before you're 18.. haha. Actually I rarely speed, maybe once a month I'll go 80. Normally on the fwy I go 65 with cruise control on. And I completely agree that people who go 50 in a 40 or weaving on the streets because they are in a hurry and 15 in parking lots are being pretty irresponsible.. They are endangering a lot more people than they think, all because they're being selfish and cant spare a few seconds.

Respect on the road should be taken seriously, that's why if any car were to come up the road, I was going to cut the highs and slow back down. I didn't ask them to look out in case I wanted to cut over to the wrong side of the road or anything. Trust me there are a lot of daunting drivers up there who will do anything to "beat" other people. If we stuck a camera in their cars and showed mine side by side, they would probably reach the end of the road 30 seconds sooner than me and would be driving MUCH more quickly and most likely be double-laning.

Imagine going even faster than me... Bad? Then imagine taking up the whole road... At least if I'm turning right, there is "emergency space" on the other lane if something were to happen, if you mess up while taking up the whole road, pick your choice of mountain or cliff. The following two are videos of daylight canyon driving, one drift and one "performance". Tell me if my video still seems really bad to you after seeing these

I've experienced a BRAND NEW STI wagon try to cut me off using the wrong side of the road when I was already at a quick pace. The story ended after he followed me through 3 corners still on the wrong side of the road, took a left turn going way faster than the law of physics could handle, understeered into my lane in front of me since he wasn't even set up right for the corner (left turn left lane) then hit the dirt bank that runs along the cliff, jumped straight into the air, flew over the cliff, and landed down the road with the car on its side.

Driver was fine, passenger's head was bleeding, their GIRLFRIENDS in the back were fine, one was shaken up so there was a funny moment where I comforted her and my friends chuckled a little (she was f#@$ing hot and wearing a tube top) and we helped them rock the car back to its normal side, but it wasn't going anywhere cuz coolant was all over the street and the suspension was hanging out of the fenders. I found the spare tire cover and a speaker 30 feet back and about 100 feet of glass trailing behind the car.

We later found out it was his dad's car still with paper plates, and that guy's license was suspended... When we left he said he was gonna tell the cops that he tried to avoid a deer.

So this is a forum made for a sports car and so many people are upset.

I wonder what would happen if I posted it on a conservative car forum like the Honda Fit forum... They would probably REALLY hate me
