I think he was referring to your lack of educated and scientific argument on Gen coupe comparison with Z. You still provide no evidence and facts to support whatever you said. And you keep mentioning the new Gen coupe has more power, yet it's still slower than Z in every way. It just shows how poor Hyundai's engineering is.

My experience and closest comparison:

In 03 I ran to the closest Nissan dealership and threw my rump in the finance box. I got 2k for my trade (08 mustang gt 5mt). Needless to say after all was said and done, I walked out with a black enthusiast model w/AT cuz they were selling so fast that was all that was left.
So life lesson learned here:
car under 30k @ 10% finance = $550/mo payment (I had 790 credit score btw)
a car that looked good and was Quick but I wouldn't "drive" cuz couldn't afford a ticket and the payment. IMO that car wasn't all that fun after a week.
and no matter how bad you want a car, don't let a finance guy bend you over!
I kept the z 6 months and traded it b/4 there was a KBB on it as to not get boned even harder.

FT-S/BRZ: way more fun to drive and a lot more "rare" in a sense, better financing options as well as no haggle price even @ msrp. And at least with a not so functional back seat you can still squeeze more than 2 people in it. I once had 3 people in my z, one in the trunk...NOT COOL.
can't compare a 6cyl to a 4cyl in a fair manor, but having owned both this blows the Z away in my book.
The 86 is only "rarer" FOR NOW because it just came out and the supply can't match the demand at this point. But overtime there will be whole lot more 86 on the road than 370Z.

Btw, got to give you that! How did you even have 3 ppl in your Z? That was an amazing feat.

my z was rare for about 3 weeks.

3 people in a 350z, driver, passenger, short persons head&torso in hatch with legs between driver and passenger. that was the day I said oh crap, this wasn't practical.

Once again, just HOW is it better? I guess for you, the definition of "better" is "slower", "heavier", "less responsive" and "uglier". The first three are stats and well-documented reviews. FYI, You will rarely find somebody telling you Gen coupe looks better than Z.

I wouldn't call it a "conclusion", just speculation. You can actually look into the sale figures, and I believe 86 has sold faster than 370Z when it first came out.

Interesting...never would have guessed that as I hardly ever see others out and about. I'm sure they'll start popping up more regularly eventually...as long as I don't start seeing them everywhere I'm good.

Ok. I just googled it and confirmed the sale figures. Apparently, the 86 (including both BRZ and FR-S) is off to a much faster sale pace than the 370Z initially. Hence, soon, I think you'll see the streets flooded with the Twins.

Cheaper cars sell at a higher rate than more expensive cars. There's more TC's on the road than 370Z's also.

FRS's/BRZ's are on their way to being just as common around here.

Once again the genesis coupe is a better buy than the 370z, the G37 equipped as much as a track package your looking at over 50k and 370z over 40k! Over 40k to have navi and heated seats!!! What a joke! The 370z has two seats and weighs almost as much as 4 seater coupe! Thats a joke! 370z platform is too old and their styling is outdated now. You get 10 people and tell them to choose Genesis 3.8 or 370z, they will take the genesis because it has way more to offer than a 370z

ugh...again, where's your proof of argument? All major auto magazines pick 370Z over Gen coupe any day. I dare you to find one that says otherwise. So stop using personal Hyundai fanboyism to make an argument.

not that i am well informed on the matter but auto magazines opinions are hardly proof of anything...carry on

I think you're gonna be right, at least for U.S. sales figures; I think it has largely to do with the fact that the 370Z came out right when the economy tanked. People didn't want to go out and buy frivolous things like sports cars. I honestly haven't seen more than say a dozen 370Z's in person since they were introduced in 2009. The FR-S/BRZ are more affordable and are arriving when the economy is a little better, albeit not great by any means. I've already seen in person about 10 of the twins in just a few months.
