I don't want my armrest to be something that I have flip up, flip over, slide out or otherwise leave open in order to have access to the cup holder. How about a leather padded arm-rest that is a border around the existing tray and is open in the middle allowing me to rest my elbow but also the ability to access what's in the tray without having to open anything?
Think about that... make that, then please.... take my money! ![]() p.s.... very good work nonetheless! |

It looks like a nice piece of work.
I think if the padded part of the armrest itself was 2/3 the length and made so you can just slide it back to uncover a cupholder that would make it more functional. It's not like your arm is going to rest behind the seat. Then whether it opens from the back or the side won't really matter. Also if you could make it without drilling into the center console (which doesn't seem too difficult) I agree with others here that would make installation quicker and you could always remove it easily for track days/AutoX days to save that extra pound.

^ exactly.. and makes production cheaper for the manufacturer
and the product cheaper for us to buy. also it makes the console very accessable - just toss the arm rest on the back seat and BOOM! |

I use the cup holders in the center console all the time... can't fit a medium coffee in the door - its too deep.
i never drink fast food pop or anything in an oversized cop, so the door 'cupholders' only really work for bottles - hense why they are labelled and named as bottle holders only |

A cup or bottle in your cup holder is no less inconvenient than having the stupid armrest flipped up. It's still an obstruction.
Magnets are a terrible idea and would still require you to hard mount some magnets to the plastic and/or create an unsightly gap due to the stack height of 2 magnetic strips. OEM style fitting is much cleaner. Why would you want to take it off? Just keep it closed. The only 2 valid improvements would be the double red stitching and a phone cable slot. And some fuggin pricing and where we can send the money. |

The armrest doesn't cut it for me. I like the flippable aspect, but the shape and contours are not up to Toyota/Subaru design levels. It looks flat and amateurish.
