How involved is the installation on this? Looks pretty easy from the pics.

K what i don't get is if this is so important how come we see no manufactures doing this from the factory? It seems like a simple solution that would help reach better emissions and increase the mean time to engine failure?

Someone made mention on the page before this (and I agree) that its because of cost.

I can understand this argument for a 30K car...

but what about 80K+ cars? Cost is not an issue there, and they don't use it. (Anyone feel free to correct me if in fact higher tier cars do have it).

Also let's keep track cars out of the discussion, because I can definitely see how this benefits track cars. II'm asking more about the daily driver, occasionally driven hard.

I don't know why the posts disappeared, but Crawford had responded to my post within minutes about AOS in Porche's.

So here's an interesting post I found:

http://986forum.com/forums/general-d...os-fail-2.html

What, if anything, can be done to avoid the AOS failing as noted in the thread above if I/we get them on our twins?

I'm no expert but I believe the Porsche AOS acts somewhat like the PCV valves on our cars.
They have diaphragms and moving parts in them to limit the amount of vacuum to the crankcase which fail. So what ends up happening is when the internal mechanical parts in the Porsche AOS fails it creates a direct line between the intake and the crankcase pulling oil directly out of the crankcase.

The Crawford AOS has no mechanical parts, seals, diaphgrams, etc. to fail. Most of the time when the PCV fails it gets stuck closed, not open, and the way its built what happens in the Porsche case isn't going to happen on our cars.

Hello everyone. Just an update for those interested. The group buy it up and you can now purchase the Crawford AOS!

Maybe it has something to do with them trying to strongarm crawford into a vendor account even though they are not trying to sell product here directly.

All the best to them, it looks like a well made product.

I just find it hard to beleive that Toyota/Subaru could not afford to create a small plastic container that increases engine life and reduces emision drasticly like some are making out.

Wow, so Crawford is selling a $300 a/o separator and can't afford to pay the $80 vendor fee to help out the community with a group buy and a discount?

Sounds like a great company
