With that said, I don't want it to be 370z fast. That would be cool and all but 200hp seems perfect. Maybe even on the verge of a bit too much, but I'd be very happy with 200hp from an NA. I'm not particularly old but I have an old school mentality with cars. Just keep it simple. I love the AE86 and what it stands for. I also love Subaru and what they stand for. The bastard child of the two is a match made in heaven for me.
This got to be a joke, I 'm gonna say I respect your honesty, but you want to have the best trim level, gonna have to pony up, gotta pay to play. Bad news for you prepare yourself to be half hearted I just got confirmation that Subaru will infact offer a turbo variant shortly after Scion release, my question is how much? So you're gonna have to wait like the rest of us while the Scion guys are zipping around early summer.

source?

it doesn't matter whether you're an n/a fan or turbo fan, i hate it when people claim to have confirmed info when nothing is confirmed. all that does to a forum is litter it with garbage.

I don't mean to sound cocky but I have no problem ponying up money. I just don't want it to be THAT kind of car. I probably just explained myself terribly. If a turbo variant ends up being on par with a 370z it just seems like they took the AE86 idea; a lightweight, low powered car, and just modernized it too much. It's no longer the car for the die hard enthusiasts like most of us here, it's the car for anyone who just doesn't want a Z.

The AE86 was definitely a nicer version of the corolla's available at the time, but a corolla was a very base car and the AE86 really wasn't a huge improvement horsepower wise, it just had much better technology with the twincam and it was better balanced. That's what made it awesome.

Not only I, but this whole community would like to know the source of this so called 'fact'. It has been told repetitively and confirmed by Subaru that they will not be offering a turbo FR on release.

This isn't 1983 ok? Even Tsuchiya admitted that a turbo spec would be nice.

If Subaru will not have turbo version, don't worry Toyota version should have.
Toyota Supra always have both NA and turbo version.
