a lot needs to be considered when making an intake. if low end is lost, then it's a poorly designed item...unless it needs to be couple with other air/fuel related items (full exhaust, tuning). a lot of these things need to be paired together for the full effect and benefit. i would not be installing anything on the car that sacrifices the stock performance.

Remember the stock vs. afe intake dyno runs they provided were 2 weeks apart. The ecu may still need to adjust.

Is the cone filter detachable ? I'm considering to replace it with a K&N cone filter.

I have power gains at the low end just by using the aFe oiled air filter with the stock intake.

I'm glad I decided to save the money on buying an intake. Canceled my order with aFe. There are some big name companies that haven't released their intakes yet so I'll be waiting a year to see who truly has the best gains.

It is, but curious as ty why you would want to do that? AFE filters are made in house, and of good quality. There is also a dry element option, so you will never have to oil it like the K&N's.

No, but dyno operators can. Scaling, and tampering with dyno results is easy.

thats the problem with ALL cone filters.. which is probably why flat panel are almost always (some older fords) used from the factory..

^Opposed, your sig says you have a Perrin UDP. Do you mean lightweight pulley or does Perrin have an underdrive pulley available?
