Some error codes will put your car into a "limp mode" depending on potential severity of the code, as well as if higher rpm can cause damage. Do a full clear by unplugging your battery for a few minutes, after, let the car idle for a few minutes to start to relearn the MAF. Take it on a short low rpm drive (5-10m) and then run it through the rev-range (3k, then down, 4k, then down, 5k, then down etc).

Right now the car shouldn't be in this "limp mode" though because there are no codes being thrown at the moment. The guy who checked my codes did say the car could be in limp mode but the code that was thrown should not have put it that way

I'm one of John's testers too and I have gotten a check engine light as well, but only when I bumped my GoPoint BT1 OBDII adapter. It throws the code U0073 (U0073 Control Module Communication Bus Off) and also throws the traction control light as well. I think, the traction control light will come one anytime the CEL does. IIRC, every thread about the CEL coming on, also involves the TC light as well. My CEL has NOTHING to do with the tune and everything to do with me bumping the adapter.

I had the wonky idle before the tune and I've been nervous reading all the threads about CELs and cam sensors, etc. So far I have 1600 miles on the tune (3800+ total on car).

I did a search on google for the code you got and it pulls a lot of stuff for IMA on Honda hybrids. The subaru stuff it finds is related to the gas cap and emissions. I'd make sure your gas cap is tight, reset the light, and see how it goes.

The bad cam issue codes are P0017, P0018, P0019 and some others.

I'll admit, I did gasp when I saw the thread title, but I think your car will be OK. Better safe than sorry though. Hopefully John gets his GB fulfilled and has extra cables because I want to get one so I can flash back if I need to.

Oh I don't blame the tune at all, I loved the tune, but with so many cars being messed up I am just freaking out. I'm going to try to head over to Prime Motors today to see if they could flash me back to stock and then I'll just go from there.

Checked the gas cap and it was tight, so cross that off the list.

And to this guy ^^^^ I never said his tune turned the check engine light on, but it is possible it could have.

We shouldn't jump to conclusions though.

That's why I used the word correlated.

Hope you get it worked out.

So I was playing around with my traction control trying turn it on and It wouldn't come on. I opened up where it is and it wasn't plugged in! It's been plugged in before as I've used it but it seems to have just come out somehow. So I plugge it back in so far everything seems normal and fixed. Gonna do a drivin cycle and see if it any codes are thrown again. So if anyone gets the code p1449. Check your traction control haha. Cheers
