Top two:
MR2 (Updated MK1 or MK2 coupe, don't want a ragtop) Nissan MID4 (Hmmm, maybe this is AWD BRZ) and then in no particular order... Ford Thunderbird (in its original updated form) Downsized Camaro and bring back the Trans Am even if Pontiac is gone! Lincoln Continental Town Car without the ugly grill they use now Plymouth SuperBird! mid 70's sized Honda Civic Wagon Honda Prelude Yes, I'm all over the auto road map.

Wouldn't that just be the eclipse GSX? I could imagine Dodge doing an AWD Turbo Dart and be like "IT'S THE NEW LASER!"

If the Honda Prelude comes out again I wouldn't mind it being a FWD. It'd be nice if it was RWD but Honda has always been mostly FWD's. I would honestly just love to see what kind of motor Honda would put in a 'Flagship Sports Compact' for their lineup. The Prelude was plenty impressive enough as it was back in the day, for me anyway. If they updated it, I think I'd like to see a 8000RPM+ 2.4L motor. Hopefully generating 260+ HP. But then again the Mazdaspeed 3 did that much power and you just got torque steer all damn day. |

Mitsubishi needs to come up with a new Evo soon. Dropping it makes me sad
Mitsubishi also could try to give the GTO a revival. Though a FWD / AWD Eclipse in the old DSM image would be a welcome contender to the Subaru Impreza / Legacy GT Nissan Silvia is a no-brainer. It needs to happen. The Z car should get upgraded and also go up in price. It needs to be an engineering marvel like the Z32 was. Toyota Supra would be a welcome return but it should and will be more than 50k. Expect minimum 400hp. Honda COULD make another S car. The S2000 could make a return around the 28-30k range and re-thought. It's really tough to make that call for Honda. They rightfully won't cop out like Toyota and offer the car in AT to get more sales out of it. Honda's other option is to give the CR-Z a better return in the image of the CRX SiR or to make the Civic SiR a hair smaller / lighter / better. They don't have a current "hot" car available on our market. Honda could also consider the Integra once again and make it full a sports category around 24-27k and in a light chassis with a high revving 2.0 variant of the current K series. It's a pricey motor to build so that's up in the air.

Nissan S chasis needs to come back.
Mazda RX7 needs to come back. Toyota Chaser needs to come back AND BE SOLD IN THE DAMN STATES THIS TIME Honestly, those are the only three cars I would like to see brought back. Though another Impreza coupe would be pretty sick. It's a damn shame cars keep getting bigger and less appealing. It would be awesome if they went back to some of the roots and kept the weight and size down. The new impreza's are just horrible.

L15/R18: SOHC, which is kinda hopeless for high specific power. K24: DOHC, but integrated exhaust manifolds and 99mm stroke aren't so great. An interesting low cost idea they could try is an MR CR-Z. Just flip the FWD transaxle around and stick it in the back. I'd actually be down to buy that, even if it's got a sad engine. |

It would make sense for another Toyota/Subaru collaboration for a Celica AllTrac/FWD version. I wonder how much stake Toyota has over Fuji industries.
All the heros of yesterdecade, the Supra, NSX, etc. All bastardized by hybrid power and potential AWD setups. It's worse to think that the 1st generation Honda Insight is a closer resemblance to a CRX-HF than the CR-Z itself. Honda could have a hint of revival basically recreating that 1st gen Insight with lithium ion power and higher output out of a 1.0 or 1.3 engine.
